War in Iraq based on lies

To anyone who has been paying attention, it is now clear that the reasons given to the American people to go to war in Iraq were untrue. But how many people know that there was a congressional hearing on June 16, 2005, an attempt to shine a light on the Downing Street Memo/Minutes?

Unfortunately, because the congressional "leadership" did not want this hearing to take place, not many Americans know that a historical event took place in a cramped hearing room in the basement of the Congress.

How many Americans have looked beyond the Michael Jackson trial or the "runaway bride" story? Those trivial stories seem to be what our so-called press wants us to think about 24-7, rather than to see that more and more evidence is coming to light to show that this administration was not "misled" by "bad intelligence" but lied — that's right, lied!

Lied to the American people, lied to our soldiers, lied to Congress, lied to the United Nations and lied to the rest of the world. Lied about Iraq attempting to purchase uranium, lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, lied about there being any connection between Iraq and 9/11, and lied about there being an imminent threat.

It is shameful that the Republican leadership is doing everything in its power to avoid the questions from even being asked, let alone demanding the answers.

My husband called & there are already 2 insulting, threatening messages on our answering machine.

They cannot handle the truth!

5. If you don't have caller ID,

when you get a threatening message use *69 (or whatever the code is with your phone company) to get the number of the caller and then pay a visit to the local police station.

Call the police if people threaten you! They can find them using their phone numbers via the Caller ID.

The mere implication that Chimpy isn't a godly christian man that you'd like to have a beer with if he wasn't an alcoholic cokehead is enough to send a lot of the wingnuts into a frenzy. Boldly stating that he's an out-and-out liar will totally discombobulate any number of them.

11. Interesting That You Mention That

I've taken to simply telling any "patriot" who thinks we should support the "president" or any Bushbot that i simply do not believe that he is a real Christian. I've been telling them "You've been used." "He's not born again. He makes that stuff up, and you fell for it." "He hasn't done one single thing in public life to indicate that he has a Christian bone in his body."

Now, without insulting their belief structure, i simply have denigrated Bush as LYING ABOUT BEING A CHRISTIAN! It really defuses any debate and pretty much stomps out their flame.

16. You can call the phone company

If you are getting threatening or harrassing calls, you can request that they trace your calls for a set period of time. I had to do that once before, (before I had caller ID). It was free.

Some companies also have a call trace function that prints the number of the caller.

If they're threatening or harrassing you, it's illegal, and they ought to be held accountable. You don't need to give them a free pass on criminal activity out of some archaic need to be a polite little lady. Not that you would, but it's what they are counting on.
