I think it's past time that the rank-and-file and DLC have a little talk |
|
The tone on these boards, the level of anger directed at one another, at our elected Dems -- pretty much reflects how badly things are going for us, as the Democratic Party.
And it's clear, at least to me, that the yawning disconnect between the DLC, the DNC, and the rank-and-file needs to be bridged, and bridged soon.
Therefore, I think some sort of "emergency meeting" is in order, one that would allow rank-and-file to speak directly to DLC, DNC people.
A convention, perhaps? One without any of the frills and hoopla. One that's not necessarily open to press (and therefore, Republicans). Or something else along those lines.
How could this be initiated? Well, I've noticed that John Conyers has taken note of DU; maybe some of the people here who've been in contact with him can let him know about the state of affairs here. Maybe these contacts can ask him if he could pass the word, get the wheels in motion.

There is no current representation of the American People, I'm afraid.

Can't hang our heads in misery. One way or another, got to have dialogue between the People and the people in charge.

3. It was already bridged for the 2004 Election, where differences were |

put aside to work for Kerry/Edwards. DU'ers united behind them, inspite of differences.
What "state of affairs" do you see here on DU?
