My congratulations to Karl Rove and the entire RW
Congratulations folks, you've done it again.

The DSMinutes story is now walking slowly toward that old Memory Hole. You've handled it brilliantly. You never had to refute a damn thing.

We set up this whole hearing. You put it into the basement and made that the story.

We set up this whole hearing and you called for one of ours to apologize over some bullshit about discomfort and made that the story.

We set up this whole hearing and you, KKKarl, in a 'rare personal interview' make yourself the story. You wear that cutesy seersucker suit and that becomes the story (nice push there, E.J. Dionne). You blabber and blubber and prattle on about nothing. And that becomes the story.

You allow the vote on Bolton to be cast, in the process yet again showing how much of an out of the loop lowlife Frist is (nice gutting of his presidential aspirations, there, Karl) and also allowing for the filibuster battle to stay alive. Nice move.

So now the media have permission to move along.

Instead of DSMinutes stories, just today I saw a story on the poor retired greyhound race dogs. Nice touch. The rescued boy in Utah. We're all glad the boy is safe. Really. And that 'volunteer' search and rescue squad recruited in Tejas by the missing girl's uncle (or was it step uncle ... I'm not sure) for duty in Aruba. Very good. Hope keeps a story alive.

Yup, you guys are damned good.

And I'm sure the media is happy to have the excuse to just move along .......

Downing Street? Where's that again? Isn't that in London someplace?

Sheer.Fucking.Genius.

1. Yes, Rove is good- he's doing his job...we need to be better- and
also to learn to expect that they will go to any lengths to kill off a story. Fight fire with fire.

2. Rove is not "good", he's not a genius
He is just a scheming bastard who never lets morality, legality, or basic decency get in his way.

4. Anyone is a genius if he has the entire media repeating everything
he tells them...but I really hate hearing how he is such a genius..the genius was Clinton, look what he came through and won an election and fighting the media the whole time. NOW THAT IS A GENIUS !!

16. Yes, Clinton was a genius, but so is Rove
The tactics are strikingly different. The measure of success is in the results.

Clinton got himself reelected. (And for that, I, for one, am grateful, and I, for one, still love the Big Dawg.)

Rove has stage managed a coup of the world's only superpower. Call it genius or call it amoral ...... but you have to admit it *is* success.

3. What they want to accomplish....
Perpetual war AND the elimination of our social safety net

By the time the sheeple realize that is what they are all about, will it be too late?

7. It will be too late.
The sheeple won't wake up till they are cold & hungry. Then they will storm the gated communities with their picks & axes. Even the rich will lose in this mess. Sure, they'll be the last players, but they have fucked it up so badly that they will not escape intact.

Things are going to get a lot worse, before they get worse.

6. Respectfully disagree. It is a slow, but building, story.
The Watergate story that took down a president took months, years to build. I do not hold out any hope that the DSM will lead to the impeachment of Chimpy just because of the majority strangle hold in all branches of government will keep this administration "safe." But, I do believe the story has legs and the mid-terms will be the first concrete place we will see the effects of the DSM. The repugs will have to answer for their party's sins. Until then we have to keep reminding the voters over and over and over again what has happened. If we do not tie the DSM anchor to every single repug incumbent's neck up for re-election we don't deserve to win seats. This can sink them but only if the Dems get their act together.

Just because it is not going to get front page status every single day between now and November 2006 doesn't stop the Dems from bringing it up every time they have a microphone in their face.

The repugs do one thing and one thing really well (well, besides completely trashing a nation) is they stay on point and never, ever let up for a second. The DNC could learn a thing or two and hammer the DSM every single time they rise in the Senate, they speak on the floor of the House, bring it up again on all news programs, cable shows, newspaper interviews. Just refuse to let it die.

11. I agree with this disagreement
The analogy with Watergate is striking.

The DSMs are the straws that will break the camel's back. That's good straw to hang on to.

The tide is turning and Rove's dam is breaking. The press corps is slowly growing their balls back and pitching in unexpected questions. Many Republicans appear to be fed up of being butfucked by the Neocons and their fundamentalist parasites.

DSM is riding the wave and has the momentum of an unprecedented 51% DISAPPROVAL rating.

Now is the time to recollect ALL the evidence and mark the DSMs as exhibit A. They ARE the smoking gun that we needed to complete our case. The hearings have only just started. This will be the one that won't go away.

There is a special place in hell for the Nixons of this world and DSM is this President's key to the executive bathroom there.

12. Watergate started very slowly, too. I'm always amazed at the....
...number of DUers who have absolutely no patience, no intestinal fortitude, if you will, to deal with a long protracted fight to regain power.

17. Right Media_Lies_Daily - repugs have taken 30+ years to set their course
and the Dems aren't going to undo the damage with one month of DSM news. Nixon was a horrible president from the git go yet he was re-elected with an overwhelming popular vote. And we all know how that worked out for him and the repugs.

This country is like a huge ocean liner that when it needs to correct course it takes time, effort, patience and a lot of ocean to turn it around. We are headed for an iceberg so the crew has to get their act together and act now. Does that mean when we start swinging the rudder around and the ship only moves in increments that we should stop? Of course, not. Slow and steady until you reach a point the ship is practically swinging itself around. (And none of this arguing among ourselves that maybe we shouldn't go in this direction, or we have pulled too hard/not enough, or put up with the ones who choose to complain while sitting back and letting others do the work.)It will take a lot of us to pull on that rudder (especially with the MSM trying to jam up the gears) but we can work together and get it done. We don't have the option of giving up.

15. Their ghouls were in the Senate claiming that "Christians ........
were under attack by the democrats because someone complained about Christian proselytizing on military bases.

Yep, thats one arrow in their quiver. Christians are being threatened. Truth be known, this recent crop of them can't seem to get along with anyone, and are unfit to hold any leadership roles.
