Some of today's government bid requests.
The governments needs about 1700 more body bags:
"NSN 9930-01-331-6244, POUCH, HUMAN REMAINS W/6 HANDLES, HEAVY DUTY, 17 MIL, BLACK, VINYL. Total Quantity: 1,733 EA."

Some generals need a vacation in Vail:
"Commanding General Off-Site Conference.
Fort Carson is requesting quotation on the following requirements to be located in Vail, Colorado. Facility must offer a large fitness facility, running trail access and dining facilitie s. CLIN 1 Lodging for 20 people on22 SEP 05; CLIN 2 Meals for 20 people on22 SEP 05 consisting of (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner); CLIN 3 Lodging for 110 people on 23 SEP 05..."

The Social Security administration is paying the State of Florida for electronic access to records:
"The Social Security Administration intends to award a sole source requirements contract (base year plus four option years) to the State of Florida Department of Health, Office of Vital Statistics, for electronic access to Birth, Death, Marriage and Divorce records through Florida Department of Health?s database, Automated Index Retrieval System (AIRS)."

The National Guard wants some of those hip plastic bracelets:

And the Special Ops guys need a bunch more storage space:

3 each - Folding Guard L3 lockers each is 3' x 18"D x 7'-6"H with ceiling and 3' x 7'-6"H hinged swing door with padlock hasps. No shelves."

1. I can't help but see
These people order things like they have an UNLIMITED income..

It's like a never ending buffet of gimmie gimmie gimmie.

And why should THEY go to Vail?
They could have their meeting at some hotel like a days inn.
The Government wastes because they think they are entitled to and 8unless we the people start asking where OUR money goes they will never stop because the government is full of sociopaths.They do not have self restraint that is how they appear so strong and confident,it means they have no self control and control needs to be applied from outside by the people and the diverse branches of government checking power of'leaders'.Limiting power is the wisdom in the Constitution.

2. Hmmm...50 "folding guard lockers"...
...and each the "single detainee" size....Children, can you say "Gitmo to GO"??? I knew that you could!

3. I was thinking the same thing
especially when noted "without shelves". Body sized. Makes one go "Hmmmmm?"

5. One week bid time.
Guess they didn't really want any new vendors.
And there is an addendum that says "This modification is being issued to clarify one point in the solicitation. There are no existing cages/lockers that have to be matched."
I think this is just chain link fencing, but I'm not sure.
