Investigation on local news about credit card theft

I was listening to the local news this morning and they told how your credit card gets stolen. Basically they told how there is a code in your card and while you scan it at a store in between those ten to twenty seconds that it happens the number goes to a third company and not your bank. This third company keeps up with everything and then takes it to the bank. The bank also has a company that helps with your credit card and keeping up with you. These other companies have no rules or regulations on not giving out your info so that's why they sell it.
