Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone

F1 boss calls Danica, repeats sexist remark
Patrick stunned by Ecclestone's comments

How could Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone top his previous comments about IRL racing sensation Danica Patrick? Well, he did.

Last week when asked about Patrick, Ecclestone caused a media stir by saying women "should be all dressed in white like all of the other domestic appliances."

But he apparently outdid himself when he called Patrick and repeated the same line.

Patrick said that Ecclestone called her Saturday morning and, after congratulating her on her fourth-place finish at the Indy 500, again repeated his statement about women, the Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday.

She should say something like "He has been cleaned. Like a smelly refrigerator."

3. He should stick to crushing beer cans on his head.
And, driving machinery in circles to amuse the brainless.

7. It always amazes me how these right leaning car racing professionals...
could only make their living by turning left.

8. Sorry to be a pedant
But F1 doesn't race on ovals, but rather on circuits requiring both right and left turns.

The real irony of Bernie's comments is that your typical household appliance would have done a much better job of handling the fiasco at Sunday's U.S. Grand Prix than he did. Given how inept he is at his own job, he's hardly in a place to be criticizing anyone else, much less making ridiculously sexist remarks.

Some of the F1 teams have female engineers helping develop the cars. Since he in essence is their boss, wouldn't these comments be grounds for suing his dumb ass?

9. Shows how much I pay attention to auto racing....
Does that make me a Liberal Elitest?? :-)

If I were on a Formula 1 team, I'd surely sue his ass if he made the "domestic appliance" comment.

11. Formula 1 is the motorsport for liberal elitists...
since unlike NASCAR, it's not very Murkin. (Only one race in the U.S., no American drivers or teams.)

However, I think holding one's nose to all motorsports gives one better liberal elitist street cred than liking F1. But what do I know, we traded our old Saab in for Dodge last year. :-)

12. I do like watching the rally road races...
I think that would be a fun sport. But NASCAR doesn't hold any appeal to me. :-)

15. Watched the FIA World Rally Championship thingy in Turkey a few weeks ago
and thought that was pretty cool. I plan to watch the Greek rally on Sunday. I think of all motorsports, rally drivers are the craziest/bravest.

But I too find watching people drive around on an oval (under the yellow flag for half the time) to be pretty bland.

18. I was watching a documentary on Porsche...
the other day and they showed some of the old road rally footage. I can't imagine driving a Porsche through the ice & snow, or through the desert dunes, but they seem to prevail! I'd like to see the road rally in Monoco... that would be a kick.

The last thing you need to do is embarass yourself and F1 any further. Just stop it.
