WTF is Durbin apologizing for? Why is it always our side that has to kowtow and backtrack?

36. are they saying that Bill Clinton is a caricature?
Because I can think of a much more definitive example -- someone from a wealthy privileged background who puts on a fake rural accent and struts around mispronouncing words and pretending to be a hick.

Go on, take a wild guess!

17. The only difference between Democrat and Republican Politicians is...
the role they play in our political theater.

How many indications do we need to grasp that there is NO (or at least minimal) representation in our Government.

The only difference between us and Republican voters is that the Republicans have yet to smell the stench.

DINO's have one role: Make us believe there's hope while the hole is being dug.

I'm done playing the game...

John Byrne

It needs to be a Senator or other Republican leader breaking the Nazi taboo. Yahoos like Ann Coulter and Rush Drugstore can say anything they want.

It's nominally nonpartisan, but the right-wingers have the run of the house while non RW'ers have to be polite. I've already been banninated twice for not bending over. I bring up their double standard, and what do they do? The invoke DU, as if that's relevant. mil.com claims no partisan leaning, nor do they want to be known as Free Republic Lite, yet "liberals" (usual Fox News definition applies here) get shat on with regularity.

The good news is, you don't get banninated right away, so you can get a few good licks in. How's about a few of you go over there and help me out.

39. None? How's THIS for "none"!
Grover Norquist - "The Nazis were for gun control, the Nazis were for high marginal tax rates.... Do you want to talk about who's closer politically to national socialism, the Right or the Left?"

Senator Jeff Sessions - "We certainly have all seen the rejections of Nazi Germany's abuses of science" (re: his oposition to stem cell research)

Congressman Steve King - "That, Mr. Speaker, is a ‘modern-day’ equivalent of the Nazi prison guard saying 'I was just following orders,’...It was all legal in Nazi Germany at the time." (re: his rsponse to following law on reproductive rights)

Senator James Inhofe - "would deal a powerful blow on the whole humanity similar to the one humanity experienced when Nazism and communism flourished." (re: his oposition to Kyoto)

Congressman Tom Cole - "Republican Congressman Tom Cole claims a vote against the ‘re-election’ of President Bush is like supporting Adolph Hitler during World War Two...It's what he said recently before a meeting of Canadian County Republicans." (statement on KTOK radio in Oklahoma)

Sen. Phil Gramm - "Now, forgive me, but that is right out of Nazi Germany. I don't understand ... why all of a sudden we are passing laws that sound as if they are right out of Nazi Germany." (re: his response on the Democratic tax plan)

Sen. Rick Santorum - "Imagine, the rule that this is the way we confirm judges has been in place for 214 years, broken by the other side 2 years ago, and the audacity of some Members to stand up and say, How dare you break this rule, it is the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 saying: I'm in Paris, how dare you invade me, how dare you bomb my city. It's mine." (re: his statement during the fillibuster battle last month)

I'd hardly call this impressive list "none". The media gave all these a pass on THEIR Natzisms/Holocaust references... because they came out of Repuke mouths.
