I'd say we have a bona fide opposition party now. |
|
The party may not be monolithic, I don't expect it to be -- heck, I don't want it to be.
But I think the Democrats are doing a fantastic job of creating a cluster fuck in Washington and stalling the pResident's agenda!

I wish we would stop wallowing in guilt proposed by rethugs though.
The forced apology's make us look weak IMO

5. I agree that the apology was crap. But on the whole, I am proud. |

He had to postpone tax reform, right?
We're going to weaken him severely, take back the house, and investigate until we've got enuf to convict him, cheney, and half his henchmen.
"Bush Republican" is about to become the worst thing you could call someone on the right.

7. What are you talking about? |
|
After the Democrats "distancing from Dean"?? After the Durbin apology?? After the filibuster 'deal' that has given us five right-wing judges??
With a 'flag' amendment on the way ... with an 'energy' bill for big oil likley to be passed with Democratic votes, etc.
That's just a few items.
Frankly, that doesn't sound much like an 'opposition' party to me.

plus, the point is not obstructionism so much as, give us a decent judge and we'll give you an up vote. Give us a decent UN diplomat, and we'll give you an up vote. We're not looking for perfection - just somebody who isn't an embarrassment to their profession and a poor example of American values.
That's all we ask. Why do they keep sending us turds? We voted in the other 185 judges who weren't radical freaks without "obstructing".
