Do You Think That Conservatives Consume The News More So Than Liberals?
1.) Does this explain the heavy conservative slant throughout the entire news spectrum from AM talk radio to 24-hour news networks?

2.) Why don't Liberals watch the news as much?

I do think that more conservatives watch the news channels and listen to AM conservative talk radio more so than Liberals, and I think that all news coverage is tailored to suit the conservative audience. That's why issues like Hillary's dismissal of the White House Travel office (a completely trivial event) gets more coverage in the media than the Downing Street Memo (a document that should be grounds for impeachment).

This also explains why news that could be damaging to the Republicans like the Ohio coin scandal, the Terri Schiavo autopsy, and the continuing violence in Iraq are either not covered fully or are slanted so that Republicans don't get "embarassed".

1. I can't answer for everyone but...
I'm personally sick and tired of the sheer propagandizing that has been carried out on the networks for one.

I get my news from the internet.

2. No, just that the GOP has taken over corporate America
through projects such as the K Street Project. And since the GOP owns corporate America, it owns the news.

They put the GOP in charge of PBS and if you are watching what they are doing there you will see how they previously changed corporate media. Its the same playbook.

4. I have not watched hardly any news since January
After my mom died things just changed for me on some level. Not that I watched much before anyway. I think I have watched 4 hours of news total on TV since 1/1/05.

I am either online, working, programming, playing with my daughter, fishing, et al. I listen to the radio more then I will ever watch TV. It is just not my thing since twin peaks and X-files left the airwaves :)

For news I read online and I listen to the radio. I spend more hours per day avg on government web sites reading press releases then I will probably ever spend in months watching the news on tv. It's just me and how I live.

I just don't see the need to watch what others want me to see on the news. I can get tons of information that will never make it to MSM online from government sites and local stations and papers across the US (http://www.usnpl.com for local news links).

MSM tv news bores me :)

6. it is painfully obvious....
that the right read only what is easily digestible, and highly palatable. They, like their leader, don't want to hear the minutae, nor any differing view. Whatever goes in one ear comes out the same mouth, with perfect sibilance.

7. I would watch a lot of tv if there were any Progressive news cov
coverage.

I have often said if a person landed on this planet from outerspace, how long would it take for them to realize a Democrat Party EXISTS.
