GOP now 2 for 2 in proposing Amendments that take freedoms away. |
|
What an incredible trend they've started. Wouldn't it just be easier to repeal the First Amendment and be done with it?
Also, is it just me, or is "physical desecration of the flag" the most vague verbiage ever included in any law anywhere?

That is why the reichwing freepers are slowly methodically and with malice and forethought destroying the very Constitution that they claim to hold so dear. :-(

2. This isn't about burning the flag. It is about the freedom to do it. |
|
They are framing this in such a way that anyone who opposes the amendment must be in favor of flag burning.
Personally, anyone who burns an American flag in front of me will get a free ass whipping. But I fully respect and would protect their right to do it.
And then kick their ass.

5. This is a lame attempt to drum up some GOP support with |

a tired old wedge issue. Nothing more. I'm frankly amazed that they're bringing this crap up at a time like this.
Any Democrat with access to a microphone ought to point out how disrespectful and out-of-touch these people are. They lied to the country so they could start a war, and now they're attempting to divert attention with tripe like this. And then back to talking about the DSM.

3. I agree that burning the flag isn't a very good thing to do... |
|
But people should have a right to do it if they want. That's what freedom is all about. I think going so far as to make flag burning illegal would be the wrong thing to do.

4. I feel the ground rumbling from all the grave spinning. |

This proposed amendment is in diametric opposition with the First. And now with Rehnquist resigning, I imagine we'll get another Bushbot clone in the SC to call it Kosher.

7. Let's understand one thing. The first 10 amendments... |
|
...restrict what the state can do. Republican amendments restrict what the individual can do.
That's the Republican way!
