Until the Dems get regular uncensored access to a news network, we are.... |
|
impotent. This is so freakin' obvious to me. Pardon me for underestimating the American electorate, but I really do not think that most voters are going to bother to peruse this site and the dozens of other sites where they will get the real news. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. They're just going to sit on their tired posteriors in front of the idiot box and passively soak in the "news". That's what I used to do, and I'm a liberal Democrat from way back. Until we get that uncensored access, we're fucked, to put it bluntly.

2. Who is denying major TV interviews to Dean , Kerry, Obama, Hillary, etc? |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 05:45 PM by Dr Fate
Sorry.
No Sale.
We can't blame the media for what Top, quotable, house-hold named DEMs wont say. Well, we CAN, I guess- but what good does that do in the long run?
If you want to know why no one is repeating our DMS talking points on TV, you may want to ask the DEMs I mentioned.

he may come out of it with an official investigation on DSM. I think Corzine will be with Kerry on this.

9. I'm just saying we cant blame Republicans for not repeating our points. |
|
If we DEMs want to see "Democratic" talking points on the news, then Democrats better start going on the interview shows- high profile, recognizable, "star" Democrats.
That should be the job of Kerry, Dean, Hillary, etc.
"The Republicans wont let us on TV" and "They refuse to repeat our talking points for us" just does not cut it anymore.
As I said b/f- Godspeed to Kerry- I hope he does us right.

3. NOT TRUE - no one believes the media anymore and besides |
|
we've never needed them in the past.
but first we MUST demand a paper trail for our votes and then get rid of the DLC.
word of mouth is the BEST form of 'advertising' and the www is the most efficient way to spread the word, something no prior generation has had and look how effective they were.
keep up the good fight :toast:

5. I want DEMOCRATS repeating Democratic talking points, not Wolf Blitzer. |
|
...or O'Reilly or Judy Woodruff.
Many at DU are still expecting GOP owned corportaions to repeat our talking points for us.
I'll settle for Dean, Kerry, Reid, etc. I'm ready when they are.

Then again... what is in the media is not exactly what people believe anymore. Playing to the media regardless of who takes a stand is not going to change much, because the media is bought and sold to the GOP. That's obvious for some. Others might be hoping this isn't the case.
It's all gonna be grassroots from here on out.

8. I should clarify my point |
|
We need our own network, so to speak, one that WE control ultimately. That way, the message is pure and undiluted. The internet is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but if the internet is such a fantastic news provider, how come so many Americans put up with this crap that's going on ? And yes, the top Dems. need spines, also.

|

And talk about the DSM, voting fraud, Jeff Gannon(media propaganda)or any other issue that Republicans ignore.
Problem is, they seem to want to avoid talking about the "non-safe" issues as much as anyone else.

bother to watch! Maybe if we could get a program on Fox...they might get trapped into seeing/hearing something truthful. But I'm afraid they are so well indoctrinated...no one or nothing will change their minds. An impeachment trial is our only hope...they will listen to that ala Nixon!

the teacher appears, and vice versa. anyone who wants to know anything finds their way. Small town newspapers, independent news orgs, and foreign media are our media. i understand your frustration, but it really is like trying to get an apple from a pear tree.

18. The Democratic party is reaping what they have sown for 35 years |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 06:01 PM by SoCalDem
our party leaders stood by with their thumbs up their asses, and even voted for legislation that chipped away at their ONLY way to fight back... Now they are toothless, voiceless, and unfairly defined at every turn...and they have only themselves to thank.
They stood by for 35 years and watched media consolidation happen, and did NOTHING..
We are paying for their sins of ommission.
