Sam Seder has the perfect answer for Durbin. Too bad he didn't think of it
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 07:34 PM by Gabi Hayes
On the air now, he's asking conservobots to play a game called something like "Name that torturer."

He's asked one chickenbot so far to listen to three or four different types of torture, and tell him whether they came from the Nazis, the Soviet Gulag, Pol Pot, or......Gitmo!

the first contestant refused to do it, after spouting the RW talking points regarding Gitmo, the "absence of torture" there, etc.

The cretin was astoundingly, arrogantly ignorant, as well. He told Sam that he'd 'wipe the floor with him' on the subject of alleged torture; stuff like that

My suggestion to Durbin, and ALL Dems is that they play this game on the house and senate floors with their fascist party counterparts, and have THEM tell us all who employed which techniques of enhanced interrogation.

Could there be any simpler or more effective way to demonstrate the total hypocrisy that describes the actions of the party in power?

Once again, a huge kudos to Seder and AAR for the way they handle important topics in a way that's not tendentious or boring.

So far NO conservatives have called since, to 'play the game,' or challenge Seder's request to name ONE thing for which Durbin needs to apologize.

oh yeah, on edit, Sam offered the bok bok guy a date with Janeane if he won the contest. she's not there again

1. It's a good show tonight...
There should have been NO apology.

4. total agreement on the apology....look what they've done to him
WHEN THE F#%K are the dems realize that they, JUST LIKE the fascists, should NEVER apologize, NEVER let themselves be put on the defensive, esPECIALLY when they're RIGHT?

I'm so furious that he apologized

why didn't he just shake his head and LAUGH it OFF?

huh?

just tell the world the truth--that those who are going after him are trying to silence ALL dissent, and give OReilly's insane rant as a perfect example

this whole thing scares the living daylights out of me.

is it OK to say I'm thinking of buying a flag right now, for one specific purpose, before it's too late?

Durbin should have asked a simple question.
"Tell which kind of government you think this report describes?"

5. that was very sad......and it's just going to keep on happening
did you hear about the superterrorists being bred in Iraq now?

not just expert desert fighters, but becoming exquisitely well versed in URBAN guerilla tactics....they played a clip from a press gaggle today

Sam said something like, "Where's Gannon?" then made a remark about Scotty, despite his recent marriage, misses JG terribly

6. Does anyone know why Durbin
sounded like he was going to cry? I thought about it and wondered if the Democrats are loosing it from the constant pressure? But, in all actuality, if Durbin blew it off and didn't worry about it, he probably would have felt better.

Maybe they should just do their job now and let us take care of getting them re-elected. Give us some reason to want to go out and fight for them to stay in office.

7. I don't get it either.....why are they so WIMPY????
can you imagine Cheney crying over something like criticism?

Bush, on the other hand, has had his phony lachrymosity, but that's not from criticism

anyway, they have a conservonut on now, who, as usual doesn't know what he's talking about.

he says the "interrogation in this situation is terror," and in this situation, is AOK!!!

can't reason with these people

8. he's reading stuff that Pol Pot did, and the guy says it's OK
then didn't know who Pol Pot was.

he says it's OK if it saves american lives, though

Sam says it's creATING superterrorists, not saving any lives

this guy is a typical no nothing idiot, not worth wasting time on

sad, in a way

techniques.

Huh. Just like it's not the torture, it's the PHOTOS of the torture.

How did republicans become so incredibly immoral and stupid?

12. Exactly....It's kill the messenger writ 1984
the media are INFINITELY worse than the fascistos....it's so obvious

they should all have their heads shaved, ala France, etal, ca 1945

I cannot stand to even read about what they do as a matter of course theses days

for them to actively participate in attacks on the truth tellers, for one example, or to protest that EVERYBODY KNEW they were going to attack Iraq back in 2002, when all they did was slavishly report, with nary a dissenting MSM voice, that their lies about going through channels (congress, UN) were as transparent as a Tshirt in a Ft. Lauderdale spring break frog bar

13. He probably heard from his constituents
I believe that Dick Durbin was not crying because he may have offended Republicans. I believe that he was contacted by Holocaust survivors who didn't like his usage of the Nazi analogy. Dick Durbin is a man of great empathy, and I believe that it was these types of people that his apology was meant for.

15. did he say so? if not, he should have, then HAMMERED the
pugs AND the media for their connivance to fool the stupid populace

they both are more than happy to let this artificial brouhaha overshadow the FBI email that prompted this

again, kill the messenger, ignore the message

could they be any better than they are, or is it just the media, who are doing all they can to abet the none too slow death of democracy

Bill Moyers is on TDS right now, BTW, being a bit wimpish on the media and the pugs, giving almost equal blame to dems for their own slavish toeing of their own party line

what is up with THAT?

very disappointing interview
