What're Dweasle and Moon Unit up to nowadays?
They're off the radar as I can tell, and I imagine Pa gave em' some good advice.

If that were my name, I'd be pissed forever. Even if it were changed, there would be forever the microphone thrust in her face with some turd asking her why. No wonder they have retreated from sight. Their father gave them names that labeled them for life as bizarre.
Why not let them make their own decisions in that regard? They could make themselves bizarre by choosing a bizarre name later as adults if they wished. He took that choice away from them.
Not a bright decision if you ask me. A good decision if you are looking for publicity FOR YOURSELF...... but not for your kids.

5. I grew up with an unusual name... |
|
Your vigor is misplaced.
They will always have the option to change their names, and probably already have on occasion.
You see, not everyone is as attached to their name as you might assume. Names are not necessarily wrought in stone... and you would know that if your name isn't really "Veganistan".
Or is it?
Names are dynamic and liquidable in this society... just buy a domain name or two and you'll see it.
So you may not likethe statement Frank Zappa made when he named his kids, but are you sure you really understand what he meant?
Do some research, then decide.

6. Dweezil took that option |
|
The admitting nurse was holding up his mom's delivery because she couldn't get past her horror that they'd name a kid "Dweezil" (his mom's idea, BTW), so Frank rattled off a long string of friend's names.
Later he found out that Dweezil wasn't his real name and he insisted his parents hire an attorney to fix it. He's now legally Dweezil Zappa. By choice.
