Flag burning amendment. Are we paying these people?
The Republicans have stepped on their cranks again, and I think we owe it to the American people to point it out. Americans hate people who get huge government salaries and cushy pensions but don't do their jobs. That describes the Republican-controlled Congress perfectly. On behalf of all Americans, someone should ask "Aren't we paying these people?"

Under Republican leadership, all Congress is doing is fighting over a brain-dead woman and passing flag burning amendments. Maybe they should take fewer golf trips to Scotland, stop taking bribes to help con men cheat Indian tribes, and get a little work done for a change. Aren't they supposed to be doing something about jobs, health care, and education?

1. It's the stupidest proposed amendment in history! It just says that
the Congress will have more power. It does not define anything.

2. While we're amending - add in that ALL US flags must be made
in the US.

At least that'll put some people to work you sanctomonious bastards. If you can't do anything for most Americans, maybe you could at least help a few besides the one's filling your re-election campaigns!

5. I think so. Doing this so close to the Schiavo nuttiness ...
... is really not too bright, though. It shows the Republican Congress for what it is, a bunch of trouble-making blowhards who aren't doing the job they are being "well" paid for.

I think this flag burning amendment opens up that whole line of attack.

Where in the blue blazes did the Republicans get the idea that people wanted them to bring up the old flag burning canard? Don't they have anything better to do? Are we paying these jerks to shoot off their mouths, go on golf trips, and take bribes? ...

4. Here here! and Hear hear!
I wrote all to all my reps at http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/ to tell them to stop wasting my taxpayer dollars to discuss items that do not affect the American people in any way!

Using their time that we pay for to debate over shit like this!

6. Your tax dollars at work.
If I spent as much time at work doing as much pointless shit at these fools, I would lose my job for sure.

Too bad that the American people seem to eat up this bandwagon patriotic BS. Voting against this bill will be portrayed as hating freedom and being unpatriotic. Annthrax, Rush and Sean will scream that those who voted against this are pro-flag burning and really hate America.

Everyday and in every way I grow to dislike these people more than I thought possible.
