U.N. Uncovers Torture at Guantanamo Bay 23 Jun 2005 U.N. human rights experts said Thursday they have reliable accounts of detainees being tortured at the U.S. base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The experts also said Washington had not responded to their latest request to check on the conditions of terror suspects at the facility in eastern Cuba. The U.N. human rights investigators have been trying to visit since 2002.

of course not, too busy demanding apologies from Amnesty Int., Durbin etc. It is amazing how consistanly they attack the messengers instead of owning up to the terrible shame of it all.

and now this from the "Evil UN"

2. Right, and the found Boy Scout. His family prayed to God a lot, so that...
...was a decent Weapon of Mass Distraction and good for a few days of widespread media coverage. (YES, OF COURSE I was happy the boy was found unhurt and in good shape; I'll add that before some 'lurker' jumps all over me.) I am merely making the point that the unending litany of human interest stories (missing attractive white children) tends to dominate the (GOP's) media landscape instead of issues that 'matter' to most of us.

I've yet to hear/read a story about a child who has died, as a direct result of his/her family lacking HEALTH INSURANCE, due to Bush's policies of economic terrorism.
