London Times: Iraq: The carve-up begins (Oil)
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 04:43 PM by kohodog
Here we go. Remember the maps of the Iraqi oil fields that were being discussed in Cheney's energy meetings in 2001? Looks like the time has come for them to claim their ill gotten spoils.

"The Iraq war has so far cost America and Britain £105billion. But the financial clawback is gathering pace as British and American oil giants work out how to get their hands on the estimated £3trillion worth of oil.

Executives from BP, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Halliburton, Dick Cheney's old firm, are expected to congregate at the Paddington Hilton for a two-day chinwag with top-level officials from Iraq's oil ministry. The gathering, sponsored by the British Government, is being described as the "premier event" for those with designs on Iraqi oil, and will go ahead despite opposition from Iraqi oil workers, who fear their livelihoods are being flogged to foreigners. The Met will be on hand to secure the venue ahead of the conference."

Now we know a bit more about Blair's motives in pressing forward with the illegal war. Bush, Cheney, et al should be brought up on 1700 counts of murder in the US and hundreds of thousands in Iraq. If this invasion isn't a war crime, I'd like to know what is.

23. Think about it...these m-fers place more value on getting their hands
on these oil fields than they do the lives of American soldiers and Iraqis. Oil, to them, is more important than a human life! This is what needs to be mentioned time and time again...

These guys really do not care about America or her citizens...it is all about grabbing as much as they can when they can.

How did it come to this???

7. No kidding. I don't think that the Iraqis will sit idly by as we steal
their only asset.

Nope, not at all. And I keep getting this nagging feeling that this will bring a real flood of foreign 'insurgents' into the country. I mean, what right would Middle Eastern nations have to say about the United States and Britain determining how their assets are managed and who gets the money? Fools they.

9. It's all hidden in plain sight
All the evidence we need to put these guys away is out in the open. But everyone is distracted by the latest juicy celebrity scandal.

Remember the days when the Enquirer had the scandals and the newspapers had a little news?

11. Well CLEARLY, before the DSM, there was the ENERGY Task Force
meeting minutes that have been repeatedly withheld
for public consumption.
Who wants to bet that the Iraq invasion was documented
in those meeting minutes BEFORE the DSM?

16. I can in a word: Iraq
I would be willing to bet everything I own on the
fact that the plan to invade Iraq is clearly outlined
in those minutes.
Even BEFORE the DSM...

18. I never put that together, but I'd bet everything too.
Scalia was probably made aware of the fact that is the energy meeting minutes were made public there would be a constitutional crisis and impeachment. I lost all respect for SCOTUS in 2000when it became apparent they are political hacks, so their decision in favor of Cheney didn't surprise me.

Not to worry. Londoners have filled the streets time and time again in opposition to the Bush**co oil war, and to Mr Blair's complicity in same.

25. Reminds me of Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 & the War Profiteering Shown
This reminded me of Moore's film where he filmed the pigs attending the seminar on how to make bucks on the Iraqi War.
