The only way to exit Iraq is with UN aid, how do we go about getting that
at this stage of the game after pissing the world off? Should we send our representative with hat in hand and humble ourselves and say we really thought we would get more support and we have bungled everything. We feel the only way now for Iraq to settle down is to remove the US from within it's borders as it is apparent the US is not viewed kindly by the majority of Iraqis. We plead with the UN to help us stabalize Iraq with UN troops and especially other Arab troops until an Iraqi government is formed and completely functional. If the US did this would it be looked upon as losing the war? That is the main thing that would keep average Americans from accepting UN takeover is not to be considered losers. Americans want to be winners at all times even when it isn't warranted. Bush* said he would treat other nations with humility and be humble toward them. Now is the time to demonstrate some true humbleness in the eyes of the world.

1. I'm not interested in getting out of Iraq. The electorate voted
for Bush, so they must want this. Let them have it.

2. The UN is only a loose collection of nations
It does not have a military.

It can only ask other countries to send in their troops under the auspcies of the UN for specific purposes, like peace keeping.

IraqNam is not a 'peace keeping' mission. It is an active war that the Iraqis are fighting to liberate themselves from an invading force.

What country is going to send 'peacekeeping' troops? Germany? France?

The time for this remedy to have been used is long long long gone.

4. How ya figure? When we "exited" Vietnam, it wasn't the U.N. that replaced
U.S. troops but rather a NVA tank column entering Saigon.
