Is Rove a distraction from the Downing Street Memo?
I don't care if Rove's comments were planned as a distraction or not.

We can call for Rove's resignation - at the same time that we call for Bush's impeachment.

Just more fuel on the fire. More proof that the Repubs are panicking.

1. Last Ditch Effort
They are using themselves as decoys for the media. The length to which they reach is telling. We are close to blowing their cover. However this is close to their deadline for a planned attack on Iran....according to Scot Ritter...

2. Rove's comments aren't an accident
Because Bush is sinking in the polls, the only thing they have left is to blame liberals/Dems. It's a desperate move, and we have to make sure it doesn't work.

3. Incredibly this typical
Cover one outrage with another where the spin can get away from the main target until divisions can line up controllably and the heat diffuse. it is a constant brash tactic which works because of direct media complicity in making it work. The old shell game using scandals for shells and the evidence as the pea.

Pulling the right chains and getting the inevitable opposition or media response is easy when there has been to date NO real consequence except eventual success. Ugly, but it works and they have nothing decent to offer as cover. They never had, never will.

4. They are a distraction from Iraq
and bad polling numbers. When in doubt Rethugs seek to get their base all riled up by putting out gobbledygook about libruls.

DSM is an issue worthy of Congressional investigation. If that is in the works, then this will not detract from it.

distract the peasants as the elites continue the corporat raid on your wallet and if ya don't like tax cuts for the rich, endless wars for your kids, living in fear, ruled by fear, the decay of freedoms ,gutting of environmnetal laws..ect

If ya don't like it then You are unpatriotic and sooon will be called a terrorist supporter and eventually a terrorist..
BUT the real terrorists are passing laws like the patriot act, real ID..and wear business suits and live lavishly above the laws that they force upon the commoners

6. Distraction Out Of Desperation
I watched the entire Downing Street Memo forum in Congress last week. Thank you, C-SPAN! It was carried live, uncut and commercial-free. In addition to hearing the groundwork being laid for impeachment, the best part was the on the part of many US Representatives in attendance as well as the Gold Star Families not to let this story die.

That fact is what has KKKarl frightened. His evil genius manifests itself most effectively in his control of the press. That's why he arranged to have Bill Moyers' "NOW" news program cut in half to 30 minutes. It's much easier to control the news when only token coverage is given to complex stories.

Well, I'm sure that he saw the boxes upon boxes of petitions delivered by hand last week. 540,000+! He also knows that cracks are beginning to emerge in the Republican coalition. Stem cells are a done deal. Demanding a real exit strategy from Iraq may be a done deal.

KKKarl's despicable comments about 9/11 were a shot across the bow of the Democrats and the press. The message was in short, "If you want to try to impeach my guy and retake at least one house of Congress next year, make sure you realize that I'll burn down Washington before I let that happen."

Oh, yeah, back on 9/11 for a moment: everyone needs to visit this page:

11. Total desperation
Rove never shows his face in public, but the public face of the administration (Bush, Cheney, Frist) are not getting any more traction. This interview was an act of desperation.

It reminds me of a frustrated director who fires the lead actor and tries to play the part himself. Never works.
