SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, June 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman delivered remarks today at the NALEO conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The following are excerpts from today's speech.

"...Hispanic leaders are playing a greater and greater role in American politics...and we are a better, stronger country because of your achievements."

"...America will remain the greatest nation in the world as long as America remains a place where your aspirations matter more than your origins, where people come looking for a fair chance to prosper and serve, where the American dream is a universal calling."

"...Our first principle, that the Party of Lincoln was founded on, is that freedom is God's gift to every man, woman and child. It is non-negotiable. If you believe this, then you recognize that it is unacceptable to say that freedom is good enough for us here in America and Western Europe...but not for others in places where freedom does not exist today."

"...We are also encouraging freedom and stability in this hemisphere, through an aggressive agenda of free and fair trade, including the Central American Free Trade Agreement, or CAFTA."

"...President Bush has an agenda that builds on the civil rights heroes of our parents' generation."

"...Your interests are our interests...your cause is our cause. We share your pride in your country, your love for your family, and your faith in your God. We welcome your culture and your contributions...your gifts and your goodwill. And we won't stop until everyone in this room says, Mi partido es su partido."
