Were Rove's comments an intentional WH plan??
From AmericaBlog

White House intentionally had Rove call Democrats and 57% of Americans traitors

It's pretty clear now that this was a set up orchestrated by the White House in order to deflect attention away from the disaster that is the war in Iraq, and Bush's plumetting polls.

1. The White House released the TEXT of Rove's speech today. According to my sources who know about such things, that NEVER happens. This is prima facie evidence that the White House coordinated this thing from the beginning.

2. The RNC put out talking points today about how the Democrats "blamed America" for September 11. Those detailed talking points were clearly prepared well in advance of this noon today when this thing blew up. WE BLAMED AMERICA?

3. The RNC today reportedly released a new attack web ad going after Durbin for his comments about Guantanamo Bay. Isn't that convenient that something that took at least a few days to prepare was suddenly ready today at the same time that Karl Rove made his comments that anyone who recognizes that Bush has no idea what's going on Iraq is a traitor who loves Osama.

Folks, these bastards dropped a nuclear bomb on us today, and it was intentional. Senator Durbin learned the hard way that you can't reason with these people. Durbin apologized and what did it get him? He's in every one of their press releases and attack ads today.

At least Rove got the blogs mad. Some great posts at AmericaBlog and DailyKos. Now to get the Corporate Media to mention it and get it right. One national news report I heard today said flatly that Durbin compared GIs to Nazi's. Geez....

5. I don't think it's backfiring
Look who's taking heat now. Rove.

Look who's not taking heat now. Bush.

I believe Rummy and Rove are chaff. I believe we'll see a lot of different fusses in order to keep the headlines filled with these spats so George can hide in the background.

14. Something else I just thought of
What if they're planning something they don't want anybody to know about?? So they send out Rove with these comments to piss people off while they plan God knows what. Yesterday was the 23rd....

4. I don't think this is anything new.
The Republicans say things like this all the time. We have just ignored them in the past. We are speaking out because the Republicans raised such stinks about Dean's and Durbin's comments. And we are right to do so. The political discourse is at an all-time low these days.

6. What are you new? EVERYTHING is an intentional FU from them.
They do nothing unless they can figure out how to politically gain from it. They don't care about the country or what happens to it, only about scoring points towards making us a South American oligarchy, where any political opposition is inprisoned or executed.

7. Duh
I claimed this much earlier today. After Scotty's BS at the press conference it was obvious that it was planned.

Business as usual from the party of business.

8. Sadly, the Families of 9/11 felt the need to...
weigh in on Rove's comments:

http://www.familiesofseptember11.org/include/viewfile.asp?vfile=../..%2fdocs%2fFOS11statement_rove_062305.doc

"We are calling on Karl Rove to resist his temptations and stop trying to reap political gain in the tragic misfortune of others. His comments are not welcome."

Many Americans don't give a flying phuck about what angry librul bloggers have to say, but I believe they'll heed the words of the 9/11 families. This MUST backfire on the Maladministration.

They NEVER are. He even stumbled a few of the words. He's a poor speaker.

11. Oil went over $60 per barrel today.
The Repugs needed something to get the people's minds off high gas prices and a falling economy.

King Klown Karl Rove provides the distraction.

15. Set-Up 2006: The Democrats Lost The War
That's where this is headed. Since Democrats were so soft on 9/11, and we are against the Iraq invasion, use the same tried and true 9/11=Iraq formula and you get: Democrats made 9/11 happen = Democrats lost Iraq.

And whose gonna rebut him? Surely not the corporate media. Now this meme...which didn't need much fuel to burn...will be all over hate radio and into "fact" in the days ahead. People won't know where they heard it, but they'll know that it was the Democrats who are the ones making us "lose this war".

Rove's strategy is always to drive his guys ratings higher by driving up the other person's negatives.

It was so blatant...after Durbin's mea culpa the other day, CNN had a reporter who straight out said the GOOP is targeting top Democratic leadership for verbal attacks...and it sure is working.

If it wasn't an orchestrated affair, they will turn it/spin it into something that will benefit them to the greatest. They are a sad bunch of rich, white, GOP members, plain sad. Later, Don.
