Guess what the Air Force Reserves is doing now?
I was just in the break room at work and turned on the TV. At 1-2am, about all you will see on TV is infomercials. And there was an infomercial, all right, one for the Air Force Reserves. I stayed to watch about 20 minutes and if the folks doing the testimonials are to be believed, the Air Force Reserves is the best thing since sliced bread, no, even better than sliced bread, the best in fact. And all that for only one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer.

No mention of the possible beach (or desert) accomodations. I bet there are an awful lot of Reservists who are wishing for their "one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer". Yep, not one word about Iraq in that infomercial.

Love that truth in advertising, or would that be infotising? :eyes:

2. When they get really desperate and are afraid to start the draft

they'll start scrounging equivalent fields from the other services for selective areas.

Some candidates, IMO:

1. Military Police

2. Maintenance (will require some retraining)

3. Intelligence

Others ?

AT the least this would allow them to take some existing army and retrain them for combat roles.

3. I saw a commercial
not too long ago, using the "I can get a free education" angle. Kid talking to his Mom. She swells up with pride, and thinks it's a great idea.

As per the military's usual targeting, the kid's Hispanic.
