Even though it's possible that BOTH could happen at the same time, this is a binary poll... so those are your choices. Either-or. One or the other.

2. Either way, I guarantee they will be a Republican.

More Democrats would crossover to vote for such a candidate (especially if they are a moderate) than Republicans would crossover to vote for a Democrat.

5. Agreed! The GOP is very good at tokenism

because they want to say "Gee, we got you a WOMAN as president! A BLACK Secretary of State! You don't need affirmative action any more! The playing field is COMPLETELY LEVEL! Don't bother comparing those paychecks, don't look behind the curtain, move along, nothing to see here"

And people are stupid enough to fall for it.

didn't do well in her bid, though she espoused everything I stand for.
And, she's smart, articulate and a scrapper.

I don't think the party will move quickly toward anyone they don't think is unelectable (can you say Howard Dean?)
