Psst, Psst, Psst... Be The Media. Join The Whispering Campaign!
Psst... over here... shhh...

This is a great way to quickly and quietly get the facts out to those who don't have access to them. It's called a whisper and it's easy and fun to play. All you need is a printer and your imagination!

The whisper is the great new idea by Winter Patriot who recently launched a new site: The Whispering Campaign. Here is what Chris Floyd of Empire Burlesque had to say about The Whispering Campaign:

Tired of Shouting Into the Wind? Try Whispering.

Winter Patriot has launched a brilliant new DIY activist effort: The Whispering Campaign. It's very simple. WP has set up a website with a selection of short, succinct, printer-friendly articles detailing some nugget of unexplored or underplayed truth about our times; all you have to do is print them out -- and leave them in some public place for passers-by to find and read. As WP puts it: "Ideal locations include book stores, copy shops, libraries, train stations, buses, taxis, laundromats, grocery stores, hair salons, barber shops, rest rooms, gas stations, coffee shops, truck stops... use your imagination!"

It's real grass-roots stuff -- in fact, it reaches all the way down to the individual blade, a personal form of activism either to supplement collective action or to let each person carve a particular path. It's also a good way of reaching people outside the seething blogosphere or the media/political world in general -- the vast majority of the population, in other words.

So scoot on over to the Whispering Campaign and check it out. Start moving that mountain one grain at a time.

The Whispering Campaign stands upon the earlobes of giants. Here's how you can stand there with us:

Join The Whispering Campaign! Print the articles, make copies, and spread them around ...
Send quiet messages to all your friends, post silent messages on all your favorite blogs, do any quiet thing you can think of to help publicize The Whispering Campaign and help good information move along its rightful path.

It's not enough just to boycott the major media. We have to take over their job! We owe it to our fellow citizens to share good information with them. And this is an easy way for you and I to help make it happen.

Are you ready? Good! Now Let's Start Whispering!!

I appreciate the warm welcome, newyawker99 & all!

I've lurked about here since last summer, so I feel as if I "know" some of you already. Thanks for all the good work you've done & keep doing.

These days we've gotta band together and stick together & spread the truth.

3. I use this, it's very similar
Help spread the truth about George W. Bush and his band of robber barons intent on destroying Democracy in America! Use our growing collection of handbills as a grocery list, then leave it in the shopping cart when you are finished!

All of our handbills are based on researched fact and informed opinion, and are pulled from a wide variety of sources. With the mainstream media controlled by a handful of greedy corporations, real facts are not being presented to the American people, and thus we must once again rely on ourselves to spread the truth to those who get their "facts" in sound bites from pundits and liars.

Three Simple Steps:
1) Pick a handbill/grocery list below and click on the link.
2) Print the handbill/grocery list on your computer's printer.
3) Fill out the grocery list and go shopping. Click here for an extra grocery list page.
WHEN YOU'RE DONE SHOPPING, LEAVE THE HANDBILL IN THE SHOPPING CART.

5. Getting the truth out ...
Hi kliljedahl,
I also use the handbill/grocery list site -- another great idea for getting the word out.

We can use information from these sites (mentioned above)in our own creative ways, especially nowadays with the help of graphics packages.

I'm so thankful for the people who continue to gather information and put it into bite-sized chunks for the masses.

Thanks to all you True American Patriots!!

What a great idea!! We are the media! I'm tired of writing to them and getting no response, nor seeing any improvement in their news reporting.

27. I've been doing this...
I print out several articles a day - (usually linked from DU) to read while I wait for the bus and during breaks at work. I read very fast, so that's about 20 articles a day. I leave a few on the bus, save certain ones for certain friends, and the rest are left in the newspaper stack at the corner pub. I just found out yesterday that the daytime bartender has been reading them, and had no idea they came from me!

The best part - my repug boss is footing the bill, and I don't feel guilty about it at all.

33. This is really great, but 1 of your links goes to a Right-Wing Confederate
Edited on Sun Jun-26-05 03:58 PM by AuntiBush
Maybe you don't know this:

One of your whispers at Freedoms Lost Under George W. Bush by Chuck Baldwin, hyperlinks to where this article was originally posted. Well, if you click on that link on your site, http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/ you'll find a photo of Mr. Baldwin and to the right of his head is a Confederate flag.

Now... if you click on the link entitled, "the truth about the Confederate flag, http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/rebel_flag.html quite frankly I was shocked. He's a bible preaching southern talking about how great life was before the North took over and how even great life will be if life in the USA is just like the south, again.

He goes on to mention countless sayings from the bible proving his theory. I'm sorry, but it's what I found. Certainly it was an error.

Info from the above mention's "Rebel Flag" site w/major biblical usage about how great the south was and could still be (anti-north, bigtime).

35. That was MY idea!
This isn't exactly a new, novel or original concept since they lifted it from ME!!

I've been publically promoting the 'Whispering Campaign" on a regular basis since January 2004....
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=976762

The idea to "Pass It On!" has been added along the way.....

http://demopedia.democraticunderground.com/index.php/PNAC_101
http://www.911truth.org/article.php?story=20050518223342591
http://www.conyersblog.us/archives/00000126.htm#comments

If someone was going to lift my idea they could have had the decency and courtesy to at least include a link to the piece that started it all!

Damn, I HATE when people swipe ideas and then pass them off as their own!
