Rove has all of his speeches vetted.
This is a pissing contest. Durbin apologized and that left the door open in the immediate aftermath. The dems. caved (I'm not bashing Durbin, whom I genuinely like--Daley perhaps, but not Durbin), and the repugs. didn't. It's really quite fitting considering that Rove accused the dems. of being negotiators as opposed to aggressors.

What Rove said and implied is demonstrably untrue. But who cares about facts? It's all about image. And now look who's whining because of big, mean KKKarl Rove.

Won't someone who's retiring please just let these douche-bags have it? Someone, anyone? Call them draft-dodging, murderous pussies. And then apologize: "I am sorry that they're draft-dodging, murderous pussies." Get censured. Who cares? Then retire.

Decorum, if it ever existed, has long since left this country.

Hey, Wes Clark, say this about Rove: "I don't know why any of my colleagues in the democratic party take anything Karl Rove says seriously. I mean, come on, what would that fat little turd know about fighting in the war? We have men like John Kerry and Max Cleland on our side of the aisle. I forget where was Bush, Cheney, and Rove when it came time to put it out there on the line for our country? Exactly, they went into hiding--or rehab depending on who you talk to."

6. Yeah. Colbert said it during the Deep Throat stuff,
and I think Moyers said it the other night.

4. Rove is a punk
He gets $157,000 a year (not counting bribes or "perks") of our tax money to malign huge sections of the country as traitors.

5. I got one for you

Mark Dayton, he declared he would not run for re-election because he would be spending so much time raising money and running that he couldn't do the job he was elected for.... He's perfect.

here's an archived story from the Minnesota Star Tribune...
http://www.911truth.org/readingroom/whole_document.php?article_id=306

He basically just asking for the truth about the chronology of the air command on the morning of 9/11:

During the hearing, Dayton told leaders of the Sept. 11 commission, that, based on the commission's report, a NORAD chronology made public a week after the attacks was grossly misleading. The chronology said the FAA notified the military's emergency air command of three of the hijackings while those jetliners were still airborne. Dayton cited commission findings that the FAA failed to inform NORAD about three of the planes until after they had crashed.

Don't forget he also GRILLED Condasleeza...
http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/news/editorial/10732147.htm

Dayton chose unusually pointed language. He said congressional Republicans have enabled an environment that accepts lies from the administration and that the Rice nomination is an opportunity to reject the behavior of allowing "his top administration officials to get away with lying." Of such behavior, he said: "It is wrong, it's immoral, it's un-American, and it has to stop. It stops by not promoting top administration officials who engage in the practice.

HE'S OUR GUY. Can we think of any more?

7. vetted... who do you suppose does the vetting?
Rove. So his speech wasn't vetted (save by himself) - but it was calculated. Perhaps miscalculated - but calculated nonetheless.

8. Please, Rove isn't the sole vettor.
It goes through numerous channels--Rove being one (and perhaps the most important one). He gets advice. He checks with his bosses. I guarantee you it was vetted with Cheney and/or Cheney's staff (the main vein of vetting, from what I hear). These people, including their media outlets, if not already on the same page, get on the same page quickly.
