I Just Called the White House
and got a real person on the 'comments' line. I let the poor guy have it. Told him that things have been horrible for the past 5 years, but the past few days have prompted me to call. I told him Karl Rove needs to be fired. Told him that while we're at it, we need to fire Rummy, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, and the whole lot of them. I told him in fact the entire administration needed to be impeached. Also told him to tell his boss to ease up on Durbin since he said nothing wrong, and simply told the truth.

He actually seemed sympathetic.

I'm glad I called. I may just do that once a week from now on.

3. I did earlier
First time I had called the WH line in a while. Complained about the Rove comment.

I realize that by itself the Rove comment is chaff thrown out to screw up the radars, but I don't think it can hurt if the White House gets a massive response from unhappy citizens over it.

Of course, if enough people did that, there might be nothing to worry about.

9. i used to call the white house comments line a lot during the clinton
presidency...they were really open to receiving comments pro or con.

in the bush white house i would fear that any comments they do not like would eventually mean some FBI knocking on the door. i do believe we are in a dictatorship. I do believe Bush does not like dissent.

I commend you for your courage.

You are a real patriot. I salute you.

10. What's the number?
I'll call, not that they give one flying shit, and sorry but the guy who sounded sympathetic has probably been trained to sound that way. He doesn't give a shit, either.

And what's this Rove comment? I've been out of the loop lately.

12. Here's the number for the White House:
202-456-1414. Press 1 to get to the comments line.

I also called and gave the guy hell. I don't give a rat's ass if the FBI shows up at my door. I have nothing to hide. And if they do, they better have a search warrant.

13. Ummm...
Wolfowitz & Perle are already gone. Wolfowitz to the World Bank a couple of months ago. Perle left about 2 yrs ago now... Feith is leaving next month, I think...

I'm just sayin' 'cause I think we have more credibility when we say the right things...

Congratulations on calling. You did good. Keep it up!

14. I called, too!
I told them that as an American who loves this country it was an insult. It was an insult to the troops who are putting their lives on the line. It was an insult to every American. He should be fired.

Felt good even if it doesn't go anywhere.

Everyone should call.

and not WH operatives. I've called a few times, and spoken to women who were lovely, and lent a sympathetic ear.

16. I called today too...about what Scotty McC said in his....
briefing today - don't ask me what he said, my head exploded off my neck and shoulders and all I remember is screaming at the TV and hunting down the WH number. I'm just sick of it. If the federales show up at my door, I'll tell them what I told the WH. It's my country too, the constitution hasn't been suspended and I can say what I want, think what I want and do what I want. As long as it's not illegal, it's none of their effing business.

My, my...I'm becoming quite the militant lately...at least verbally!

17. I called earlier.
I told them that if * is standing by KKKarl's comments about repugs being "first to respond" to terrorism, why did * sit on his ass on 9/11 reading "My Pet Goat" and looking like nothing out of the ordinary was going on.

27. Just found transcript of what Scotty said today that set me off...
Q: And yesterday after your explanation of Mr. Rove's remarks the night before at the Conservative Union in New York, Democrats went to the Senate floor, held a news conference, pretty much teed off on this, calling for either an apology, one that they said had to be a profound apology. They called it gutter politics, nauseating and vulgar, and said that if Karl doesn't apologize appropriately, he should be resigned and even suggested the President should apologize. What's the thinking on it lately here?

MR. McCLELLAN: There's no reason -- no reason for that. It's still puzzling why Democratic leaders were coming to the defense of liberal organizations like moveon.org and people like Michael Moore. Karl was talking about the conservative philosophy and the liberal philosophy when it comes to the war on terrorism. And I think that he -- again, go back and look. He was speaking to a political organization, the New York Conservative Party, and he was talking about different political philosophies. I think that's what you do when you speak to political organizations.

And it's just puzzling why Democratic leaders are trying to defend the views of people like Michael Moore and organizations like moveon.org that took a very different view after the attacks of September 11th, after the attacks on the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon here in Washington, D.C. And you can go back and look at some of the comments that they made. But moveon.org had urged restraint and understanding, and they had said that we shouldn't be using instruments of war, that we should look at international law, human rights law, and international organizations to indict people.

The President took a very different view, and conservatives have a very different view. And that's what Karl was talking about. And many of the leaders who came out and, for whatever reason, started launching into attacks and trying to twist things around, stood with us in the aftermath of September 11th. There was a very united Congress when it came to how we proceed forward in the war on terrorism, in the aftermath of September 11th. So it's just puzzling that they're sitting there trying to defend these liberal views.

....and he says it with this attitude that liberals are the spawn of satan! When he knows damn well THEY'RE the spawns of satan!
