Man, do we sound like wusses when we demand apologies. |
|
My two cents on Rove.
When the Repugs were crying like schoolgirls over remarks by Durbin, Dean or whoever, I laughed my ass off listening to them demand an apology. It was like they were asking for their lunch money back. They sounded like such assholes that I was actually ENJOYING hating them.
Now because Rove shoots off his mouth, we act like Repugs and demand an apology? Are you kidding me?
Who among us gives a shit if that asshole gives us some insincere, transparent, so-called apology? Not only do I not need an apology from him, I hope he DOESN'T apologize. I've already written to Reid and asked him to stop acting like a Repug pansy, and I hope you'll join me. Let Rove's dumbass remarks speak for themselves. The "preparing for war" bit itself looks bad enough. Rove is doing us a FAVOR, for fuck's sake.
My apologies for the language, but I really feel strongly about this. I'd prefer to appear tolerant of other views, even views from assholes. Leave whiny demands for apologies to Repugs and schoolchildren.

1. What about the Republicans? |
|
Do they look like wusses when they demand apologies from our side?

The minority party, or a racial minority?
In neither case do I see insincere apologies from assholes as anything worth demanding.

I agree with you -- we shouldn't demand apologies even if they do, but it's a different dynamic when we do it, that's all.

I wasn't going there, though - I was denegrating Repugs and trying to say that we shouldn't look like the same crybabies they do. Dean tells the truth and they demand apologies - it's hilarous. I hate seeing us demand apologies that would be meaningless, and thought Reid sounded like an ass doing so.

4. No, they just look like fools. |
|
Especially when they completely miss the point of what Durbin said. As I said below, let them throw their temper tantrums if they want, we have bigger fish to fry.

There's much more important things right now to be concerned about than when some Bushco assclown makes yet another remark about those "durn lib-ruls." All this serves to do is deflect attention away from the DSM, the War in Iraq, Gitmo abuses, etc.
Let him throw his temper tanturm and move on.

7. Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question. |
|
Are you under the impression that I actually agree with Rove? If so, please read my post again.
Also, would liberals in the military be happy with an apology from such a prick? Would they be happy with an apology from Bush for getting us into this mess?
Again, I'm not sure I understand where you're going with your question.

Would the liberals in the military be happy with an apology...who knows but Rove's speech gives the impression only Rep. were willing to protect the US after 911. This pisses me off, can't speak for the military.

13. And if we let him talk instead of |

crying like I believe Reid did, we'll be closer to just that. Exactly.

We do look whiny. And not only will Rove NEVER apologize, he'll be backed up by every Repuke in Washington. Contrast that to OUR representatives, who fall all over themselves to disavow remarks by Dean, Durbin, etc. and then apologize in tears (FOR TELLING THE TRUTH!) when the GOP pitches a fit. Just unbelievable.
