Corner every GOP candidate in a BLUE DEM state - Do you agree with Rove? |
|
Santorum is already saying Rove doesn't speak for him.
Get every blue state Republican to repudiate Rove.
It's a start.

Dear Rep. King,
As one of your constituents I would like to know if you intend to call for Karl Rove's to apologize for his sweeping characterization of democrats as terrorist sympathizers.
Many of your constituents were killed during the attacks of 9/11, and yet still a majority of Long Islanders voted to oust George Bush and Karl Rove from the White House. It seems to me that Mr. Rove has disparaged the majority of your constituents simply based on how they voted in the 2004 presidential election.
I would also be willing to bet that an overwhelming number of Long Islanders who voted for Bush in '04 would find Rove's comments to be despicable -- at best, inappropriate.
Mr. King please stand up for New York and Long Island and Rove and let the White House know that their rhetoric is abhorrent. Call for a retraction.
Sincerely, tk2kewl :) Seaford

3. After all the credit he's been getting from the media the last 5 years? |
|
Oh yes they do care. It's the GOP politicians who care because the WORD of Karl Rove does carry.

5. Santorum is already running away from Rove. It will play in Pa. |
|
And it will play in NJ. And it will play in any blue state where some GOPer is facing re-election.

6. Santorum's office said that Rove doesn't speak for him. |
|
That's hardly a strong condemnation.

Spoke to people in their offices who seemed sympathetic. City Democrats know this is an issue. Many 9/11 victims or their families were slurred by Rove. And that's the point. People are personally offended by Rove here.
Santorum owes a great deal to Rove. The fact that he even offered his milquetoast refutation shows that this issue has resonance. Will the GOP back down? No. But they will know that "Blame the Democrats/liberals" is going to be a tough sell and may not play very well for the 2006 elections
