The GOP spokesperson sure looked like the lying fool he was - hope the publlic realized it.

I was struck by the fact that they ALLOWED her to have a full say, even when she interrupted her opponent when he blatantly lied about Kay's statements. (Saying "Kay said that Saddam was even more of a threat than we thought" - but they used to let them get away with whoppers like this.) She was treated respectfully by the moderator. That is NEW and encouraging.

Yet she doesn't say the "L" word. What is it that Democrats can't say "LIE"...say it early and often...cause that's what happened. We weren't just decieved or misled...we were LIED to. I'm waiting for a Democrat with stones not only to use this word but regularly and over and over...and the rest of us should as well. If Democrats are "traitors"...surely Repugnicans are "LIARS"...and they are and we've got the goods. Let's start saying it.

The Quackly standard hack was so unprepared it wasn't even close. Kritina mentions the 98-0 vote to go into Afghanistan (wasn't Welstone one of those who abstained?) and all we could get out of this hack about who was a traitor was the limp "Move-On" garbage. Of course this doofus doesn't realize Move-On took no position on the invasion until the invasion, not before.

Even she looked restrained. Maybe it's having Pete Williams rather than Tweety...but she was very measured. Not sure if I'm liking this strategy.

Mr. Hayes' performance left a lot to be desired. He mentioned several times that "Saddam was a threat." However, since Saddam had no weapons nor working ties to al Qaida, I fail to see how he was a threat or how, in the Spring of 2003, Iraq fit into the global war on terrorism.

Iraq was never anything more than an oil-rich nation the neoconservatives coveted as a colony, a place that had, as said Mr. Rumsfeld, better targets than Afghanistan.

There was never a good reason for invading Iraq. The reasons given were not only all lies, they were all deliberate lies. It is long past time for people like Stephen Hayes to stop trying to cover the regime's big ass.
