Friends: Democrats Who Voted for the IWR Can Now Make Amends with IWR II |
|
We all know that a great many of our Democrats in Congress did NOT support the Iraqi War Resolution (IWR) and bravely refused to be bullied into warmongering by the Bush White House. They will always be heroes in my eyes.
But what about the rest of the Democrats in Congress who voted for the IWR? How can they make amends with their constituents, with their own consciences?
I suggest that they begin cleansing their hands and souls by supporting another IWR. Yes, an IWR II.
What's that?
Impeach W Resolution.
IWR II. While it can't turn back the clock on the mayhem, madness, senseless death and loss of our national reputation, it would be a good start for them, wouldn't it?
So that's how John Kerry, Dianne Feinstein and (well, we know who they are) can begin to regain my respect.
IWR II.

1. Don't hold your breath. Voting against IWR(I) required courage. |
|
Unless the polls show that their precious seats are absolutely safe if they back impeachment, they will continue to grandstand about grave threats to our nation like what Rove says.
But, you can expect the usual apologists here to explain to you that the poor things were "duped" by that very clever mastermind Bush.

2. I'm following Bonifaz on this one. Use IWR as the reason to impeach. |
|
Rove spun the media into "a vote for IWR means a vote for war" and a "blank check for Bush" when it did NOT.
That distracted from Bush not implementing the IWR honestly. Why bother - They already had the public believing their blank check spin.
IWR guidelines said Bush had the authority to take military action AFTER weapons inspectors did their job FIRST and if Bush then determined that force was necessary for national security and unavoidable, and he would have to send a letter declaring that determination within two days of any action.
Bush sent congress that letter, and the DSM proves he knowingly sent a FALSE STATEMENT. An OFFICIAL false statement, which is an impeachable offense.
