Krugman's column today hit the fundamental issue facing us head on
"Leading the nation wrongfully into war strikes at the heart of democracy. It would have been an unprecedented abuse of power even if the war hadn't turned into a military and moral quagmire. And we won't be able to get out of that quagmire until we face up to the reality of how we got in."

AND

"Still, some of my colleagues insist that we should let bygones be bygones. The question, they say, is what we do now. But they're wrong: it's crucial that those responsible for the war be held to account." http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/24/opinion/24krugman.html?hp

I don't care how long it takes - there should be an investigation into this matter even if it happens 15 years from now. I believe this because those people that formulated this neo con policy NEED to be publicly discredited to the point where they are weeping like I once saw McNamara do in an interview(did anyone else see that?)over Vietnam.

3. I know I'LL be demanding an investigation 15 years fom now.
The point Krugman makes, "....we won't be able to get out of that quagmire until we face up to the reality of how we got in.", has been said a couple of times before, but I believe it bears repeating over and over.
Because GW & Co. won't honestly explain why we are there, it's not possible for them to plan and explain an exit strategy.
As a matter of fact, I don't believe we have an exit strategy precisely because Bush does not plan for the US to exit!

4. I blame Congress for not stopping BushCo.
They knew full well there wasn't a good case for invading Iraq, but they voted for it anyway.
