Hillary supporters ROCK!! |
|
Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 11:58 PM by ronnykmarshall
I got a phone call tonite from a local Los Angeles based group rasing money for Senator Hillary Clinton.
At this point with my is husband not working so we can not send money to anyone.
The lady on the phone was so sweet. I told her that I love Hillary and can't send money because of my SO being out of a job. She was the best. She said "Oh honey, it's so wonderful that you're married. That is so sweet.". This is a complete turn about from the people from the DNC.
About two weeks ago I got a call from the DNC and the woman on the phone after I explained our financial situation was all "Well, can you sent $20? Can you send $15?...." and so on.
All just throw this raw meat out on the table and let the Hillary haters chew on this!

I won't back off when I say that I think Hillary Clinton would be a fantastic president of the United States.
I think the DNC should take notice. WE as democrats might be facing hardships.
When I was younger and had little money, I donated what I could in 1992. 5 bucks here and 10 bucks there, what ever I could afford to elect the Clinton/Gore ticket. I NEVER got phone calls from the party that tried and pulled the guilt trip on someone.
Hillary's workers have proved that they have class. I'll donate money to MY party when I can afford it. I'm insulted when I get calls from someone that doesn't give a rats ass about ME wanting money.
Senator Clinton, you rock girl!!

10. I have a theory about a Hillary nomination. |
|
Like her or not, the woman garners media attention. She brings ratings, viewers, print media consumers, etc.
If she were to get the nomination.. and if the Repubs were to nominate someone other than Giuliani or McCain (i.e., someone not as known to the American public).. then she'd overshadow the Republican opponent.
That's my theory.
If it were a wrestling match, the media would bill this fight as: (cue monster truck advert voice) "On Tuuuuuesday.. Senator HILLLARY HILLARY HILLARY CLINTON CLINTON CLINTON (versussomeboringRepublicanwhiteguy..)"
The race'd be all about her. What she's wearing, how she's done her hair, what she thinks on Issue X, what she wants to do about Issue Z, her reaction to the latest Swift Boat-type attack. If she's running, it's gonna be much easier for her than, say, Kerry to get media coverage. Her message will be gotten out much more easily. The media know that she generates ratings from both those who love her and hate her.
How she would use her captivation of the media would determine how the race unfolds.

The Senate or the Presidency?
Frankly, if its the Senate fine, but as far as the presidency, ANYONE who voted for these MORANS to go into Iraq does NOT deserve to be president. That include Hillary, John Kerry, John Edwards, etc.
There are plenty of wise people who saw the deception, i.e., Clark, Feingold, Boxer, etc.
What these bastards have done by going into Iraq might possibly be the worst mistake this country has made. It quite possibly could take generations to recover from this. We haven't begun to see the disaster that will happen.
The sooner we are out of there the better. We are in the middle of a civil war, which cannot be won.

15. She's a most savvy politician and has an expert staff. She commands a |
|
wealth of resources that she can call upon to provide her with whatever would be necessary to win the senate in 2006 and the presidency in 2008.
She's unbeatable.

19. Sounds like the difference between |
|
a local group making phone calls and your garden variety telemarketers hired to do a job.
We need more local groups making calls like these, because the telemarketers could give a damn. They're probaby making a percentage of the money they raise, so all they really want is for you to make a donation.
I wouldn't say it reflects on the DNC exactly. Just the difference between local folk and the intimacy that brings and the sterility of using a telemarketing service. Telemarketers generally suck.
I hated being a telemarketer for Kerry, but I did it, and I hope I brought a personal touch to the calls. If folks said stop bothering them, I'd find a way to get them off the list, even if I wasn't supposed to.
Not a big fan of Hillary, but it does sound like this group was doing things right. It's just apples and oranges if you don't compare what they're doing to another smaller group for another politician, is all.
We need more smaller groups getting involved like that.

20. It was probably some repub front group that called you. |
|
Have you checked them out? Did they have a web site?
It's a shame that this "Hillary for President" nonsense hinders support of her as a Senator and party leader.
She's never ran for President. She's never formed an exploratory committee to see about running for President. She's never raised money to run for President. She's never entered a Presidential Primary. She's never even said that she'd like to run for the Presidency.
The right wing media has always said "Hillary's running for President" in order to portray her as power mad, and to take away from her accomplishments. I don't think she will be our Presidential Nominee in 2008. I do think they are going to build their Election 2006 propaganda around the Hillary vs. Rudy Senate Race, in order to make every race a National referendum on her.
