Sometimes I just don't get it. |
|
I was driving home tonight and was at a red light and the car in front of me had a "Honk if your for Gay Rights" bumper-sticker on the right side and a B/C 04 sticker on the left side.
I struggled to get up next to the driver for several blocks and when I did it was like a young teen kid.
I decided to leave it alone but anyone have any ideas as to why?
My guess is maybe parents that are different parties. My Father was very RW, my Mother was super DEM. All I can guess is that that may be the case. But, I feel sorry for that kid.

1. I think the parents own the car and you're correct: mixed |

2. If his parents are of opposite political persuasions, at least he's got... |
|
...a 50% chance to see the light.
On the other hand, maybe he's a budding Log Cabin Republican who hasn't yet figured out that the GOP doesn't want him to have any rights.
And one more possibility: he could be just an average right wing whack job who wants Liberals to honk so he can draw a bead on them.

9. That was the other thought that went through my head. |
|
But most kids that age don't think politics and would rather be hanging with friends. It also was a pretty nice car and most teens don't have nice cars.
My bet would be on split parents. Though these days that would be hard.

3. There are a lot more young, right-wing gays than you might think. |
|
I've met a few, and they are insufferable.

6. Maybe its the kid's car... |

...and he's making a statement reflecting the social condition of the times, maybe expressing the diametrically opposed extremes of the political climate, or the irony of the two being together. Not all kids are merely pawns of their progenitors. A few can think, and have opinions.

It's his dad's car. Whenever anyone honks, dad runs them off the road and beats them up for being a gay rights sympathizer.
