The president, he represents America, we can't have each one of us representing America, that's what America has elected Bush. Now Bush is in charge (well congress and all) and if you don't agree with him, and you trash him, you're trashing our country. You're trashing our freedom, our rights, and what we stand for.
That's fine if you don't agree, that's what voting is for, apparently America wanted him in office. Leave it alone.

51% (if that) wanted him in office. This is a great example of why the Hopi thought our version of democracy was absolutely ludicrous. One man, elected by a bare majority, doesn't represent the ideology of several million people. He's a placeholder. But he acts as though somehow "God" has given him a mandate.
If someone was slaughtering women and children in YOUR NAME, you'd object, wouldn't you? Then how can you say that you object to us having problems with the Bush Administration? They're doing things we find appalling and we're having a problem with it. YOU might not agree, but, then again, it's not your place to agree or disagree. You stated your position at the polls.
We did also. And we disagree with Bush.
What's YOUR problem?

7. The president does not represent America... |
|
The president is not a symbol for America. The flag does not represent America. The flag is not a symbol for America. America is itself, just a symbol. It is a symbol for the ideals and beliefs of our founding fathers as they were recorded in the Constitution. America is a symbol representing the Constitution.
If you are not questioning your elected leaders, if you are not demanding honesty and integrity from your elected leaders, you are not participants in the type of country our founding fathers envisioned. You are not following the "rules" laid out in the Constitution. You are not representing the Constitution, you are not being an American.
