Sirius Music Host spouting political beliefs
Penny Coyne on Sirius music standards made at least two political comments yesterday. One while introducing a Robert Goulet song. She said that Senator Durbin found out this week that words do matter. Then while signing off she commented on Linda Ronstadt's ability to sing and then added that she didn't like her politics. I have contacted Sirius and am wondering if anyone else has heard any kind of political commentary while listening to Sirius's music stations.

1. Just maybe AAR knew what they were doing when they went XM?
Is it possible?

5. But why is AAR still on Sirius?
They no longer call the station AAR but just Talk.

4. I really like the music stations
but there is no way I can listen and hear these snide remarks. When I called I was told that Sirius doesn't approve of their hosts making any political comments but that they may not own this particular station. Of course they can't tell me who does, so to me they own it. I will get rid of it if it continues. My husband will not be happy because he loves the jammin' station, as do I, but we'll survive without it.

3. Good for you for contacting them and letting them know
that easy listening and political crap don't mix. I think that might be true no matter what the politics of the listener might be. It's jarring.

Also, pissing off half their listeners is probably not a good idea. Penny needs to find a different job. Maybe EIB will take her.

6. Wow, WTF is going on with Sirius? My wife is a big Howard Stern fan,
and I definitely appreciated him coming out for Kerry and against Bush in 04, and between Stern moving to Sirius and AAR being on Sirius in its entirety, I was all psyched up to get Sirius.

Now I'm hearing that AAR will no longer be there and that even MUSIC DJ's are dropping their wingnut politics between songs? WTF? :wtf:
