Thomas Friedman's latest idiotic column on globalization

Are We All French ?

Once again NYTimes globalization tautologist Thomas Friedman is spouting off about the joys of globalization. This time about how CAFTA and French protectionist policies are somehow related. I'll tell you this, what Friedman leaves out is that that 35 hour week policy of the French...it actually created jobs and boosted productivity in France, according to an AP article.

As for Friedman's beloved globalization's offshoring of jobs and capital, he should save some of his column space for counteracting the BAD that globalization does. He speaks of Shumpeter's "creative destruction" taking place and how jobs are being offshored and outsourced to India etc., but fails to mention ANY replacement work in the US and other countries 'left behind'. Lots of DESTRUCTION of jobs and not a lot of CREATION of jobs.

I hear the Indians are now demanding more H1B visas...which means even more jobs eventually going overseas or to the immigrant labor market in order to displace US workers. Lovely.
