I'm sure Rove and Bush and Cheney sat down in the White House and said "What are we gonna do? We've got Hagel turning on us now, and a lot of other Republicans are going to follow suit. Not to mention we've got Conyers treating the DSM like some kind of smoking gun for impeachment. Not to mention we keep losing another few soldiers in Iraq every day and we have no idea how to win this war we started."
So they came up with their usual strategy. If you can't beat the Iraqis overseas, go after Americans at home. If you're losing the war, don't blame Rumsfeld, blame
http://mediamatters.org/items/leftsidefront/audio/200506220006&e=10053">Randi Rhodes. If soldiers are getting killed due to lack of ammo and armor, blame Michael Moore or the Dixie Chicks. If the FBI reports that we're torturing taxi drivers and flushing the Koran down the toilet, blame Dick Durbin or Newsweek.
Send out a clear warning: Anyone who disagrees with Bush's losing strategy on this war is a traitor. True heros shut up and sit down so Playstation generals like Rumsfeld and Commander Codpiece can kill off our soldiers one by one.
The neocon strategy of blaming 57% of Americans for losing Iraq is backfiring. By starting to blame people for losing the war, Bush and Rove are ADMITTING that they're losing the war. Now it's Republicans who are saying that if we all just join hands and sing "Kumbaya" we can win this one - same way they thought they could resurrect Terri Schiavo by waving a bunch of nutty signs. Meanwhile, Democrats, "liberals" and guys like Hagel are starting to look like the sane ones, while Republicans run around blaming America first and telling everyone to clap louder.
