What "reality" is shrubco gonna create now, that their most recent
"reality" is quickly looking like a big crap sandwich to all?

The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

1. Tax Reform!
To fight the terrorists and support the troops!

It will include (indicated by releases by his panel to develop a tax reform plan):

* No more deductions for local and state taxes!
* Ending writing off donations to nonprofits!
* Closing the corporate tax break for offering health insurance to employees!

But wait... Bob, there's More...

* Providing more venues for sheltering investments (for those with the spare cash to invest enough to benefit...)

2. I don't think they have a plan "B"......

There are many things the Neocons seem not to have thought through
very well. The main one being that they are trying to force a minority
world view on the whole population. In the long run, that only works in
virtual police states like appartheid South Africa. And the idea that anyone
can pull off being an "empire" in this day and age is idiotic. The world
has been there and done that, and they won't put up with it again.

I've said this many times here on DU: the Neocons have made the mistake
of believing their own bullshit. (Witness Jeb Bush trying to keep the Terri
Shaivo issue alive. He can't seem to get that that particular Neocon tactic
was a disaster). Unfortunately, so have many Democrats and moderate
Republicans. Fortunately those two later groups are waking up.
