I don't worry about all this stuff, and I don't worry about the meat industry either, but I do grow some of my own vegies...mainly because it's a whole lot cheaper than the stores and they are FRESH!

All but the last two on this list are most commonly contracted from meat and meat products. (And they are dangerous, but mostly for immunosuppressed people.)
The last two are fecal-oral transmissions. Eeeewwww.
(And don't eat the sprouts!)
