the real story on the funding for PBS and NPR
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 02:50 PM by minnesotaDFLer
i was talking to my uncle today, a staunch conservative who was telling me his thoughts on the funding issue. He said it was just a scare tactic to get the corps. to bend over and take punishment from the republicans. Apparently the new president (who was just recently installed in a deal to keep funding going) was an organizer for republican caucuses. Or something like that. Anyways we just keep getting fucked on this. How long is it gonna take it for us to get some of our own biased media in there?

The Rep congress cut funding to CPB, then as a compromise they gave funding back but they had to accept an ex RNC co chair as their CEO. That's a horrible thing, but they are smart aren't they. It worked and the media isn't saying a damn thing. I think the whole point was to muscle in their biased appointment to take over control of the so calledf "liberal" CPB/PBS. This is the first biased ceo I know of at CPB.

I'm going off of memory but I think thats the summary.

NON biased, objective, accurate and factual news reporting.

at this point we need to force our views out there. The reason we lose so much is because we try and accept the oppositions views as just a point of view. if we start forcing our own views in there it will help a lot.
