Rasmussen Poll - Bush approval 50% ????
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 03:57 PM by johnaries
70% say Gitmo prisoners treated "about right" or "better than they deserve"???

They also have a table of Bush approval ratings for the last 12 days showing several points higher than every other poll in the country.

Who are they polling? Republicans only? I can't find any kind of breakdown anywhere.

1. It is not who votes that counts;it is who counts the votes.

3. rasmussen.. warnings to ignore it
during last election.

uses machine, robotic voice to interrogate the person at home.

some other reason also exists to view its results with caution., but i forget what it is .

i now see it as an "outlier" from the bulk of polls. give it the weight of a feather.

i personally put most weight on Dem party sponsored polls.

4. Yes - something is very odd about Rasmussen.
They claim that in the 2004 their polls showed Bush over Kerry 50.2 - 48.5%, and the actual was 50.7 - 48.3%

In Ohio, they predicted Bush 50% to 46%, and final fraudulent numbers were Bush 15% to 49%

Florida, they predicted Bush 50% to 47%. Final was 52% to 47%

Considering all of the suppression and irregularities in Oh and Fl, how could they get so close?

Unless they KNEW fraud was going to happen. I think I'll post this in the 2004 Election forum.

5. Don't they mostly poll rightwingers?
Last I looked only about 20% of the population liked Bush and his policies still.

6. These polls are normally very right wing
This is not surprising. Rasmussen tends to be a very GOP favorable poll

7. Ipsos-Reid or Zogby are more reliable. Rassmussen leans right

as does Gallup.

It's not the data they collect, it is how they interpret the data. The data can also be skewed by the question and how they determine who to poll.
