Bush is getting crucified like Jesus was crucified
My RW mother told me that just a few minutes ago. The conversation started out with Nixon since I just started reading John Dean's book and she said that all people can do is trash bush all the time. She said no one can say anything good about him.

I told her there wasn't much good when it came to the WH and his policies. She insists that some of the amendments of the patriot act are things the govt could always do. It was such RW drivel that I was about ready to :banghead:

Uh last time I looked Bush wasn't poor, didn't actually follow his own "teachings", and he's not dying on a cross in enormous pain.

25. Jesus woulda been fine if he just hadn't messed with Religion Incorporated
Once he fucked with the moneychangers, he was a dead man.

As we all know, Bush is PART of Religion, Incorporated; he's running with the thugs who use guesses, superstitions and belief to keep the poor in place and fleece 'em good and proper.

6. You might want to point out to her...
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 04:10 PM by BeHereNow
that many of the "good 'Christian' Germans" thought the same
about Hitler.
As a matter of fact, so much so that they condoned
the murder/execution of other German Christians who
criticized Hitler.
Also, ask your mother to read 1 John:4 and find just one
documentation of GW meeting the criteria for
discerning a True Christian from the false spirit of the anti-christ.
It may change her views about who GW is really working for
as he far better fits the false spirit discernment check list
as given by the word of God.

I've asked her that. It just amazes me that her and others refuse to acknowledge that bush/cheney have hurt this country. It's like they've got their heads stuck in their bibles and refuse to come out.

My mom has never been one to admit a mistake at all. That always weirds me out because this regime won't admit it either.

It's a crying SHAME that our country has been sold to the highest bidder.

I don't know your age, but I'm a "boomer" who has always felt that you can get up in the morning "hoping" to LEARN something new!! I thank whoever it was that gave me that gift!!!

Change isn't a problem. Isn't that what EVERY politician talks about in a campaign, yet every time it's predictable as to what will happen???? Had ANYONE who voted for "the corrupt ones" done an ounce of research, this guy would be toast!

Even so, I still maintain that he perpetrated ELECTION FRAUD TWICE!!!

Maybe instead of her listening to Rush turn her onto Al Franken or someone like that. Find out why she likes Rush and find someone who is on a left-leaning station who is complete opposite and try to get her to listen. My mother used to be rightwing but I've turned her against them as well. ;)

I'm a big fan of Al Franken's show. I don't think she'd go for it. By the way, does anyone know why Randi Rhodes disses him all the time? This really irritates me, for I like Randi's show, but Al is better in my opinion.

He's been doing it just since AAR started, he's the most famous "name" and probably has the biggest salary... so she wonders "where's the justice?" I'll bet.. IMHO she's the better radio person.

by virture of her experience, but that's no excuse to insult him. Blame AAR, but don't disrespect a "team mate" is all I'm saying. Though I like listening to her, I do think Al has a better show.

Randi rants a bit much for my tastes, and takes too many calls. She also reaches on some of the conspiracy theories she indulges. Her personality gets to me from time to time. Al has great guests, his politics are more in line with mine, and I like the format of his show.

26. For some reason I am really, really disgusted by that comment.
I'm not religious, but Jesus preached love for one another, turning the other cheek, he drove the money-changers from the Temple, despised the Pharisees for their hypocrisy, and he never started a war (although many have been started in his name).

There is a divine nature of Christ in the circumstances of his conception and birth, the life he led, the miracles he performed, and how he eventually personally suffered greatly, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally to save humanity. To elevate bush to the level of Christ is just absolutely revolting.

Don't take it personally, please, I'm just ranting.

27. Better get used to it-
I agree with you completely, but the fact is,
that is EXACTLY the comparison these freaks are
making, and trust me when I tell you,
it has only JUST begun.
Want to know the irony of it all?
If the so called "Christians" of the evangelical ilk
could actually read and humble themselves
to the santification of God's promised discernment
for Christians, they would know that the bible says this
would happen.
They, who deem themselves so pure, are the
filthiest among us.
They are wallowing in the feces of the AC and
think themselves "saved."
Boy, are they in for a surprise...

30. Ugh. I'll never get used to it.
I'm thinking of making a bumper sticker:

God is a conservative.
Jesus is a liberal.
That explains the crucifixion

If they start making references to crucifixion vis-a-vis bush and Christ, I think it will truly nauseate the real Christians. This is, as the above poster noted, blasphemy.

Thanks for the scripture references. I haven't read the Bible in years.

I called her back and spoke with her a little more and it hit me that she equates as attack on shrub as being one on her faith. She can't separate the two.

It makes sense as to why the neocon's got into bed with these people. They knew they'd get their most ardent supporters who would see it like this.

35. is there something superior about American Christians?
Ask her this. Because devout Christians in other countries do not equate Bush to Christ, nor do they see his policies as promoting Christ or Christianity. Or is there something in the Bible that makes it and the religion unique only to Americans in 2005? If so, point that the place that says that as I haven't read it nor have ever heard reference to it.

AMERICAN Christians are the only ones who count.
that is because GAWD appointed George to lead them.
To hell with everyone else, including the Iraqi Christian
civilians that have been killed by our bombs.
They weren't REALLY part of the body of Christ you see.
They were BROWN people.
GAWD as they personally know him only likes
fat, pasty, white and rich Christians that live here in
the United States of Fascism.

I would call her on that alone - ask her if she is really putting a politician in the same league as Jesus Christ. And if she is - isn't that idolotry. Or is she suggesting Bush is "the second coming" and if so could it be that he is instead the anti-christ, who at first appears to many as the savior himself?

Plant those seeds in her mind. At least if nothing else by calling her on that comparison - she won't make it around you anymore.
