William Kristol's Comments |
|
I am reading Michael Lind's book "Up From Conservatism". In it Lind quotes William Kristol. Kristol is quoted as saying, "In the last couple of weeks, there's been to much psuedo-populism, almost too much conern and attention for, quote, the people... After all, we conservatives are on the side of the lards and barons.. We at the Weekly Standard are pulling up the drawbridge against the peasants".
I have heard about Kristol's comments about how the liberal media was never really strong. However, I had not heard that he just came out and said that the Republican Party was the party of the rich. First, how does he get away with saying stuff like this. Second, why don't liberals point this out. Since the Republicans continuely claim that the Democratic party is the party of the elites. The Democrats should point out that the conservatives have admitted to being for the rich.

3. Probably the same reason |

they never tell anyone about PNAC. I'm assuming you're talking about the liberal politicians not pointing things out. What those reasons are, are probably up for debate.

6. That is how they talk among themselves |

In public, they try to get the peasants to hate liberals. They are pretty good at it too, frankly. There is no other explanation for how these nazis win elections. Like the old saying goes, if Republicans told the truth, no one would vote for them.

8. Good god that is one hell of an admission. |

But the "peasants" will still have their w bumper stickers on their vehicles and froth at the mouth if anyone dares defile the flag. Why do repugs win elections? Divide and conquer. But then I have a firm grasp of the obvious.

http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/w/william_kristol.htmlThat validates it somewhat. You have to wonder who--be it regressives or democrats--would subscribe to such anti-American values. I truly think a lot of people who follow these greedy pieces of shit don't know what they're signing up for. They just want to be on the "winning" side. Those who consciously choose to follow these principles should be exposed at every opportunity.

10. that sounds like sarcasm to me... |

or cynicism.
I don't know much about William Kristol, except the fact that he is a conservative writer. But I'd have to know the context of the quote before I took it seriously.
