Lindsey Graham questions Iraq War
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 07:51 PM by Eric J in MN
US Senator Lindsey Graham is from South Carolina.

http://www.dembloggers.com/story/2005/6/25/145314/198

(includes video)

"I've had people - Republicans, Democrats, conservatives - ask, 'Why are we over there so long?' and, 'We need to get out of there.' I've heard it louder in the last few months than I've heard it at any other time. I hear it at church, from business leaders, wherever I go," Graham told The (Columbia) State.

...Graham says people understood why we attacked Afghanistan after the horrors of Sept. 11. But "it is clear that our intelligence was less accurate about the threat in terms of weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq, Graham said.

1. This is good...
I like Graham. I consider him to be a moderate Republican. Kind of like McCain.

I guess he's just a plain old conservative Republican. But he's a decent man.

12. McCain is mister on every side of the coin....
He's all over the place. Corrupt, moderate, right wing, left wing......He's worse than Kerry in that respect.

3. Graham Is Positioning Himself For A Presidential Run....
...and being a southern republican senator, who voted for the war, but now says we're there too long, is a damn good beginning.

If he's not the Repubnut Standard Bearer, he'll be 2nd fiddle.

8. Interesting point.
I think you are right; he seems to be positioning himself for 2008. I do not tend to agree with him on much of anything, but have listened to him closely nevertheless. I think that he is the tip of the ice cube as far as republicans attempting to distance themselves from the administration's Iraqi war policy. Yet until he comes out strongly opposed, I will consider it to be his way of playing politics. Our country can't afford to play right now.

13. Isn't Graham well-known as a closeted gay?
Wouldn't Dobson, Falwell & Robertson have a collective heart attack if he was outed as a Democratic October Surprise?

11. When you copy a long link from another thread, you
need to right-click to get the whole thing.

Or click it, and then take the link from the top of the new window.

Long links at DU are diplayed with "..." at then end, and so you can't just copy them like text.
