Wingnuts Finally beginning to see the folly of their choices...
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 10:35 PM by Dr_eldritch
Surfing around, I encountered a right-wing 'conservative' site that is not happy about the decisions starting to come out of a very 'conservative' Supreme court.

And this is what I've found;

Supreme Court Rules Cities May Seize Homes
By Matt Apuzzo, Associated Press Writer, Associated Press, Yahoo! News
Associated Press writer Susan Haigh in Hartford, Conn., contributed to this report.
June 24, 2005..........EXCERPT

"The U.S. Supreme Court destroyed everybody's lives today, everybody who owns a home," said Richard Beyer, owner of two rental properties in the once-vibrant immigrant neighborhood.

Nationwide, however, legal experts said they don't expect local governments to rush to claim homes.

"The message of the case to cities is yes, you can use eminent domain, but you better be careful & conduct hearings," said Thomas Merrill, a Columbia law professor who specializes in property rights.

Meanwhile, the decision did little to bring city officials & property owners here closer together... (more)

And later this;

(After re-quote)
Apparently the White House spokesman has stated that 'the president stands behind private property rights, but will honor the Supreme Court decision'. It was posted on a similar thread.

This is how important this issue apparently is to the R's.

You decide how you want to vote, I'm not supporting them any longer.

How much longer will it take for them to get it?

Oh, and while I'm at it... What the hell;

neocons only protect the rights of a certain few; liberals protect the rights of everyone.

The next time they bitch about a "bleeding-heart liberal" fighting for someone's rights, they should keep in mind that at some point, it may be their rights that need protecting.

3. They will soon
"owe their souls to the company store"
So... their hearts are irrelevant at this point.

4. The idiots assumed they were part of that "certain few", so they
figured everyone else could just fuck off and starve. I don't have an ounce of pity for former conservatives. Not an ounce.

6. And fuck off and starve they will
right along with the rest of us.
And so it is.
At least we can have the satisfaction of saying,
as we grovel for roots to suck on to survive,
"We TRIED to warn ya...and sorry about your three
fat white kids that were killed in Iran..."

19. That's about it, yeah.
I don't want it to happen any more than you do, but I don't have any sympathy for people who begged for it and made it possible. Not a drop.

20. There's always an alternative to starvation...
my hippie dad has a great shirt that says "eat the rich", and for all the vegans, half of the neo-cons could qualify as vegetable matter.

The whole damn thing is about to be sold to China.
Post, parcel and package.
Too late America- you lose.
The price of your arrogance, ignorance and petty pride
is about to catch up to you.
As IF your repukian/tali-born-again leaders

5. Arizona's pastime. Financing Chinamarts as redevelopment.
Here there is no project too big for any city to take on and condemn land for their pet projects that line a developers pockets.

This rulings for you, you little freepers you. They do not give a shit about you, unless ChinaMart and (insert Phoenix suburb here), want your land.

7. I hate to point it out.
I really do hate to do this, because it forces me to admit that I sided with Scalia, Thomas and Rehnquist. It was the most conservative justices that were dissenting in this opinion. If only the Republican appontees had decided this case, the determination would have been 4-3 in favor of Kelo over the city of New London.

In no way should this be interpreted to mean that I generally agree with republican judicial ideology, but in this case the country would have been better served without the Clinton appointees on the bench.

have you really failed to notice that there IS no
two party system in this country and there has not
been for decades?

12. A pack of Zombies recently attacked me for pointing this out
they DEMANDED to know who my Democratic leader/choice was.
Sadly, I had none to answer with.
Although if Byrd were available, I would name him.

14. How about Jim McDermott?
You remember him. Baghdad Jimmy they called him for being crazy enough to go to Iraq and speak out against the war before it happened. He'd make a great secretary of state, Surgeon General or HHS sec, if the Dems ever get the White house back.

And I agree with you on Senator Byrd. He was the lone beacon of light making the right argument as the war powers resolution went through the Senate.

16. And have you noticed that McDermott
has been COMPLETELY silenced?
As have SO many other dissenting voices?
I guess they let Byrd speak on C-span because
they figure no one is listening and let's face it, he is old.
I think if he were younger, they would have "Wellstoned"
him by now...murderous pack of lying thugs that they are.

18. It's a matter of who controls the media.
Edited on Sat Jun-25-05 11:39 PM by Ragnar
The media are controlled by the same entities that control the political parties, and have no vested interest in truly diverse opinions reaching the public stage.

Looks pretty interesting. Frankly, he worked for the only part of the WA state GOP calss of 94 worth mentioning, Jack Metcalf. The rest of them were pandering liars and miscreants.
