Are there any KNOWN American POW's in Iraq, or |
|
Afganistan?
When 'we' talk about how 'kind' we are to the 'enemy combatents' compaired to what 'they' would do, i can't help but think of the fact that even Jessica Lynch, Shoshandra, and even sad Lorrie Pistiawia Not only recieved medical care, but were not held in cages, or denied access to help (to the best of the Iraqi's abilities to provide it) unlike some of the actions in the first Gulf war, there don't seem to be ANY mention of MIA's or POW's-
(sorry for my terrible spelling)

Although there is an unsubstantiated video that claimed to show his beheading. Keith Maupin or something like that.

if that is 'recent'???? i'm amazed at the lack of information we get-
(but then i'm old enough to remember Vietnam)
Seems like all our Prisoners were 'released' at least early on by the Iraqi's- Not talking about civilians, or paid mercernaries, but soldiers in uniform-
thanks for the reply tho, i'll look and see if i can find more info about him.

he is a 'hired' worker- (NOT that that makes his life any less precious) but he went by 'choice' for the money- quite abit more than our soldiers are getting i believe-
i hope his family gets some closure- or better than that, that he is found alive.

10. its funny how there was a steady drumbeat in the press when two G.I.'s |
|
got lost in the Balkans and were held for a few days by the Serbs when Clinton was in office, but no one makes a peep about this man (I'd bet that over 90% of Americans don't know that he is captured). Not that any life is worth more than another but the double standards of the press between when Clinton was in office and now is amazing.

11. But Clinton had a (D) after his name. That makes all (and the only) diff. |
|
As long as the president has an (R), he can do anything and everything he likes, no matter how wrong.

12. sad for this guys family |
|
not to 'know'-
When the "Lynch" crew were shown on tv, i was SURE they were gonna be tortured to the point that death would have been a 'blessing'- (i think if the reverse were true in the U.S. with the 'mentality' of brute force and revenge we seem to have slunk into, that would have been thier fate)
but it surprised, and humbled me, when i saw that they even had Lorrie Pistawia in a hospital bed beside Lynch, and at least TRIED to do what they could for her-
While people in the us were into vigaliante justice at the same time- remember that car that killed someone in the mid-west,and a mob of people beat the driver to death????
apples and oranges perhaps, but i can see i bought into alot of lies about what the Iraqi's were all about- and so much of our info is from people who were refugees from the country- wonder what those who are refugees from the US say about us??? hardly an 'unbiased' opinion.
