Let's Stop Corporations From Running OUR Country!
I don't know about you all, but I'm sick & tired of MY country being ruled by corporations.

"Giant corporations govern, even though they are mentioned nowhere in our Constitution or Bill of Rights. So when corporations govern, democracy is nowhere to be found. There is something else: when people live in a culture defined by corporate values, common sense evaporates. We stop trusting our own eyes, ears, and feelings. Our minds become colonized. "

"The economic, environmental and human costs of corporate power and wealth are staggering. From the destruction of rain forests to the profits of war to toxic waste dumps to the mad science of genetically modified foods to global warming, the frenzied quest for money knows no limits in terms of human suffering and planetary destruction. 1. It's going to be a long process
to get them out of power, and the first step will be to form enough of a grassroots movement to oust the DLC and all their corporatist candidates and elected officials. Then we have to get economic populists elected, and that will also take a great deal of work. We will also need to make sure those economic populists don't get seduced by lobbyists with fistfuls of easy cash and "working vacations" to paradises on corporate jets. Only then will we have anybody in government looking out for the people who put them there.

DFA meetups are the best tool we have so far, probably the only tool we have so far.

My best hope is that our revolution can be accomplished peacefully, or with a minimal amount of damage to property but not people.

2. There is a reason they run the show
They always have. It's simply concentrated power. I'm shocked(shocked!!) that even with words on a piece of paper, they have more power today then they've ever had. Just simply shocking. Who knew that would happen?

If you're that sick and tired today, imagine how you'll feel for the rest of your life. Because they won't give up power today, they didn't yesterday, and they damn sure won't tomorrow.

status quo is fine with all of you? No wonder we're screwed.

14. It's a serious uphill battle
It borders on a Catch-22, in fact. The first step is the removal of corporate money from the political spectrum, which we can't do without enough lawmakers willing to stand up against corporate domination, which we can't get because of the continued influx of corporate money into political campaigns.

The entire American government, as it exists today, is set up to ensure the rights of corporations take precedent over the rights of individuals. This has been the long-standing unspoken principle behind Republicans and Democrats alike since the Industrial Revolution. Capitalism is King, and corporations are the rulers of capitalism.

Ever since the Supreme Court ruled that corporations are people, entitled to protection under the 14th Amendment, the common man has been in a losing battle against corporate interest. So now, 120 years after that decision, we find ourselves with a system so inextricably linked with corporate interests that change within that system is almost impossible.

If change is going to come, it has to come from outside the system. We have to either gain a foothold for independent, non-corporate politicians through a long, dedicated grassroots populist movement or we just have to burn the corporations to the ground. I don't see any middle road.
