WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush will try to persuade skeptical Americans this week that the war in Iraq is winnable while shoring up his own weak approval ratings. Neither task will be easy.

As part of a newly honed White House focus on Iraq, Bush will travel to an army base at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, on Tuesday to deliver what his aides are billing as a major speech on the conflict.

8. It's a hand picked patriotic audience chosen precisely because
they are honor bound and lawfully required to respect the C-in-C.

The only audience in America required to clap. x(

But their hearts may not be in the applause!

5. I guess if he says
things are better over there, they must be.... but seriously it is quickly reaching the point of diminishing returns. No amount of oil we steal can continue to fund this wholesale theft that's draining our treasury and future Social Security Insurance funds. At several hundred billions of dollars a year for a dozen or so years or even a generation according to Condisleaza, that is going add up. At that fantasic rate of drain it's only a matter of time before we won't be able to print money fast enough.

6. I wonder if he's going to address the negotiations with the
insurgents that we heard about today. I wonder how he'll "hone" that message without the war sounding like a total failure?
