Rumsfeld admits they don't know what the hell they are doing at Guantanamo
I watched the rerun of Meet the Press tonight and just about jumped through the roof when Rumsfeld said...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8332675

"The people, for example, in Guantanamo Bay, are Osama bin Laden's bodyguards. They're suicide bombers. They're terrorists. They're murderers and these are bad people. These are not good people. In fact, we've been releasing hundreds of them, and 11, 12 have already turned up back on the battlefield trying to kill innocent men, women and children."

Now take a close look at that incredible statement. He first says the people at Guantanamo are the worst of the worst, and then, without missing a beat, says he has released hundreds of them, including people who have murdered women and children.

Do I hear a collective :wtf:?

Of course, Tim Russert, lets this whopper blow right by and doesn't ask any follow up, such as "HOLY SHIT! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU RELEASE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO YOU SAY ARE OSAMA BIN LADEN'S BODYGUARDS SUICIDE BOMBERS TERRORIST AND MURDERS??!!?? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND??? or "HOW MANY OF THOSE HUNDREDS YOU RELEASED WERE INNOCENT, AND IF THEY WERE INNOCENT, DOESN"T THAT MAKE YOUR STATEMENT A LIE??"

Now, will anyone in the wide wide world of journalism have the guts to confront Bush and Rumsfeld and Cheney with these questions?

Just how many people have died because of the incompetence of the Bush administration? How many more must die before this nightmare ends?

1. The Nazi defense at Nuremberg was more clever by far
Surely Rumsfeld doesn't expect us to take him seriously. The day these boys go down, it's going to be HARD. No mercy!

2. Rummy could sit there and proclaim that
2 plus 2 is 8 and Cheney is an android from the planet Pluto, and the whores would ignore it. Tough follow up questioning would be inviting retribution, and the whores don't want to go there.

Rummy's statement suggests he doesn't know who the hell is being held at Gitmo and he doesn't much care. As long as he can authorize torture, he's happy.

3. "You do realize, Rummy,
that we have absolutely no way to test the validity of any of this. You could be (and probably are) talking out of your ass here. And we have no way of proving it.

But, then again, that's pretty much the point, isn't it?

4. Well, you know they can't really be suicide bombers
I've never heard of one of them yet that survived their act to go on to prison

5. I don't know if we realize just how explosive his statement is
I don't care if your liberal or consevative, prowar or antiwar.

Rumsfeld has admitted being a total f*ckup.

We need to press this one hard.

6. The man is certifiable.
Getting clarification on this statement is going to be interesting. I wonder who's up for it?
