They don't have any Navy worth talking about that can perform blue water operations and they have nuclear powers on two borders, one of whom they've had a shooting war in 1962.

China is not in any position geopolitically to attempt anything close to what would be referred to as 'gunboat diplomacy'.

It's just not reasonable to think that only good-hearted, fair-minded, decent people would aspire to power in such a country.

Such power would attract evil. Why would evil people be content with minor pickings when they could have the power to do whatever they liked?

Of course they would not admit they are evil. They would use propaganda to cover their real motives. So we would have to judge them by their actions.

China already has power outages in the summertime due to all the factories using up all the available power. I'm sure when Peak Oil hits, they'll use their brand-new navy to sieze whatever resources they think they need to be comforable.

unless we confront it now, and not in a military way but a diplomatic way but with oil men at the helm my hopes are not up.
