and female lives are so inescapably constricted, women can only gain some warped feeling of personal power, salvation, pride, or whatever you want to call it, by aping the actions that get men the most attention and acclaim.

A couple of them felt a little rethug in perspective to me...which is interesting to me anyway---the focus of the rethugs always is so out of whack with appropriate response to the lying, destruction, greed and power hogging of the RW.

I'm talking about the "I'll defend your right to burn the flag to protest desecration of the Koran". RW's like to use this to slag Dems for our stance against criminalizing flag burning. As if we had trivial motivations. And the other is the Rummy burried under a pile of garbage, politely asking Ted Kennedy if he can speak now. Also typical RW trivialization of Democratic challenges to lying liars. They never notice that those challenges are purely in defense of the rights and the lives of the Americans the RWers trample without regret.

27. Hey, I saw them differently

I saw them as pro-Dem, some people didn't get one or two of them at all. If we were all alike the world would really suck. As far as " couple of them felt a little rethug in perspective to me" I saw them as satire, anti-Rethug.
We obviously had different views on a few but that's what used to make Murika great. I post daily every third week as a member of the "Toon Syndicate". Have you seen my others this week?

28. yes--actually, I did a search for toons. I do that every now and then

so I can find them. I realized I need to do that, because I'd been missing the toons.

I didn't mean to be critical! That was just how I read those two.
I'll make sure to not rush away anymore after reading the Toons....sometimes I spend tooo much time here and then suddenly realize, "my gawsh, I have to force myself away"--last time I saw the Toons, I was in that mode and didn't take the time to kcik and say thank you. :blush:

29. Try an advanced search

Put in my user name & put "TOONS" in "subject only". I've done a bunch the last couple of months. I'm too much of a Newbie to have known matsonj, but after reading the tributes I thought "hell, can do that." I've been collecting them for myself for a while, pre-DU, so it's not a real problem.
